Official: Pellegrini to leave/ Pep to join Man City

We're not getting Pep, and I don't think we ever were. Mourinho is right there, give him the bloody job.

Can't wait for Giggs to 4-4-2 the shit out of Pep with Martial and Fellaini up front.

Yup. That's exactly what we need. A manager who recently got sacked for taking his title winning side to the bottom end of the table. Perfect solution.
There are enough threads about debating whether Mourinho is the right choice or not. He wasn't my first choice, the one who was just got appointed by City. Now, he is my first choice.

We can maybe give Pochettino a chance after Pep and Mou's 3 year cycles, but as of right now, Jose is definitely the only candidate who can help us withstand the sh*tstorm heading our way. Time for him to take over the reigns at our fine establishment and prove yet again that he's 'the special one'. Bring him in within a month or two, let him assess the squad so he can fix it in the summer, and he should probably be able to guide us to 4th place as well.

Alternatively a manager who has a fantastic record at winning trophies. He fully believes he is the best in the world and would like nothing more than to prove that against Guardiola. Would be more driven than ever to get one over Guardiola / make up for the mess at Chelsea.

Shocking :boring:

Pep is boring as feck in his managerial choices so far. Bayern and Man City, two clubs which you're basically guaranteed a trophy with.
Yeah, he doesn't want to take any risks at all given the way his career has been up to this stage. This was always the most likely outcome.

*Inserts dead kermit/muppet picture*

City are basically ahead of us in every aspect now, other than stadium and fanbase.

Pep can attract almost any player, IMO he will take City to the next level.
This is not good news for MUFC.

Worst kept secret in football.
Several media sources had already confirmed this.

The real joke was when Woodward was allegedly having meetings with Guardiola, after Guardiola had already agreed to join MCFC.

Yep.

So, 2 of the big 3 (Ancelotti and Pep) have been signed up.
That leaves only 1 - lets see if we are able to get Mourinho to join or if we ballz that up, as well.

How can someone who wasn't your first choice, become first choice all of a sudden? I don't see how this depends on whatever city do. Our process of selection shouldn't be to get intimidated by city and their plans.

There are no surprises but the ineptitude at Old Trafford to appoint Moyes and watch the club slip that far into a position where this is even possible will hurt for more than 3 and a half years.

Not really newsworthy after all these months and weeks but anyway.

Related to statements from Caf users that a DoF would hinder hiring elite managers, this statement is interesting: It reads that Pep becomes Head Coach, not manager.

Our only competition is Madrid, isn't it. And right now they still have their Zidane project.. we need to get Jose in before that goes belly up.

Mourihno it is then.
Except it really isn't. We (Man Utd) have known for some time that Pep has chosen City, and with our recent results there really has not been a better opportunity to fire LvG and hire Mourinho, yet we haven't? Obviously the board doesn't want him.

According to one random French blogger.

Of course he fully believes. What else is he going to do? Especially after his worst season ever and destroying his relationship with everyone in and around the club. Picture perfect fit for United, eh?

No surprise. City probably have been working on this for years.
