Ole is great. Don't forget Norwegian managers has a stellar track record in the Premier League and Championship.

I have no idea how this will go and am saddened by the turmoil of the club. But every time i think of ole gunnar solskjaer- the baby faced assassin- managing united, i cant stop smiling. I hope he absolutely nails it.
I get that you don't think that achievements in the Norwegian league matter, that's fair enough, but why ruin your own arguments by lying about and distorting what he's actually done? He's finished 1st, 1st, 6th, 5th, 2nd and 2nd for Molde. The one season you seem to think is of importance, they at least won the cup, and he thus again brought them to Europe. This on the back of losing four of the key players from the previous season. (The next season, without him, they won the double, so he didn't exactly leave a shambles when he went to Cardiff.)

This season is a write off. The most important thing now is we get the DoF in early and start planning for the future and next transfer window.
What we most need from the caretaker is that he gets the club, works in line with that, leverages whatever knowhow and good advice is still available (SAF, Sir Bobby, tealady) and has the club's best interest at heart even if at his own detriment while a better setup is being put in place. I.e. you don't want someone trying to patch things up and working to retain the job permanently at the exclusion of everything else.
Can't think of anyone I would trust more than Ole for that gig.

I hope he improves our strikers with their identifying of space, presence near them and their finishing as well.

I don't need top 4. I just need attacking football. I want all our players to play at their potential we all know they are capable of.
I don't like to think this season is a write off. Its only December.
I absolutely love the guy and what he has done for the club however managerial wise I have not been impressed. His time at Cardiff was really bad but the positive thing is he knows this club inside out and is fully aware of what will be demanded from him. I really hope things goes well for him because if things go bad I'll feel terrible for him as he is the first person we have appointed post Fergie era that I actually love.

Can’t really see this going wrong as most of you are scared of. When we play anything POSITIVE it looks like we can play with any team in the league. When we sit back , that’s when we get slapped around.

Exactly. We've seen them win so much already and trophies aren't everything. All I ask is for players to work their asses off and play with passion. If they lose, it's ok, because that's football. But they can hold their heads high and we can applaud them proudly.
We have Herrera fred who can press and win it back quickly, sanchez can press, if matic is made to press as well, he could find some form rather than having to sitting back and dropping deep. We can win the ball quickly in central areas. Let's see how we make use of the ball under ole.
Exactly. And what Di Matteo did was pretty much not care about keeping the job or being the big man or overcomplicating things.
Suddenly the players were solely responsible for performances and they reverted to type/memory and played the way that was hardwired into them and always got them results. In fairness to José, that CL win was probably more his doing than anyone else's. You could see Drogba's goal coming a mile away, before the corner kick.
Only problem in all that is I don't think our current squad has anything at all hardwired into them. Nothing coherent at least. That's where OGS will have his work cut out.

Can't see us getting beautiful football for awhile. We're a broken team now who have been mismanaged. It'll take time to get our football back on track IMO. What we can do is take important steps. Like start matching the running of other teams. Start pressing properly. Start playing some interesting attacking football albiet not Champaign stuff. Start developing players well.
Basically let's head in the right direction. You dont go from shit to brilliant overnight. But you can change course. That's the best we can hope for this season.
I've seen matic press and I am not impressed. There is 50% chance he will get bypassed and only 10% chance he wins the ball. And then he passes back to the defender.
With an exception of benetez zidane case. Let's hope ole really gets these players.
I hope it goes well but I'm a bit uneasy about it. The team isn't suddenly going to change their ways overnight. It'll take a while and in the meantime he's got to get results against managers with more experience, even at the smaller clubs. Of course we've got better players than most, but that hasn't meant a whole lot until now. But it's probably just me over thinking things. If we win the first three games, then no worries.

Ole has always seemed like a very warm and charming person, I'm pretty sure the players will love him. Given that the season is already fecked, cheering the squad up a bit and instilling some confidence for next time around is about all we can realistically hope for.

I agree with the notion that Mourinho maybe even could have won the CL this year, I mean if anyone could pull that off unexpectedly. So say we won CL, it would have been great but Mourinho would still have had to leave? It became toxic instead of competitive and professional, maybe not only his fault but he is who he is. If we're lucky, then changing the whole atmosphere could have more of an immediate positive effect on the team, something Mourinho ultimately became totally incapable of.So we should give the job to anyone who does poor with a shit team then? I agree that appointing Solskjaer would be a disaster if it was just a cheap option and trick to get everyone happy fast so the pressure on the likes of Woodward taper off, and they can keep doing the same stupid shit. However, I don't think that is whats going on here. We clearly has a manager lined up for the summer and wanted to fire Mourinho to move on from him early, and maybe even do a couple of transfers in January for the next man, on the hush. At least I hope we actually try to change our ways. If we miss out on a CL for the longterm benefits of restructuring and have an easy going manager while we do some changes, then fine!
As an interim manager he isn't much different, but just a better alternative than Carrick and Mckenna to take over, because he comes from the outside and hasn't been a part of the toxicity. I can understand and share your frustrations, but I also think you deserve to not be so bitter about this, relax and hope for the best until the summer. Have some fun.

Great appointment. It’s an absolutely low risk way of testing the waters with a ‘non-experienced’ manager. Doesn’t do well?
