Only worry is Poch changed up his system in the 2nd half which resulted in them dominating the game creating 5+ clear cut chances and our coaching staff failed to do anything to counter it.

Not really. He did well to get them up to a decent level in his first few seasons after they'd been poor for quite some time, but after that there was never any sign of him developing them any further. From memory they had the fifth highest wage bill in the league, and he had them generally finishing fifth to seventh. He got them to fourth once, and also had a couple of very poor seasons. They generally played a fairly average (being kind) style of football as well. Not much has changed for them since he left.
Meanwhile Poch has been competing with, and normally outperforming, quite a few clubs with superior finances than he has. Indeed financially Spurs are at a similar level as what Moyes Everton were. He's doing it with quite a good style of play as well.
We have 3 inexperienced coaches at this level with Phelan the steadying influence and who knows if there is the odd word of wisdom from the great man in the background. I would like to see a lot more of this set up rather than bring someone else in during the summer with a whole new back room team.

A DOF is mandatory regardless of who ends up being our next manager. It can only be an asset, can't it? We might even need to change a lot of our scouting network. I have not been impressed the recent years.

Put a bit more distance between ourselves and Spurs, papers over the cracks for a while longer, the media hype machine goes into overdrive so all they’ll talk about all week is them instead of us, and the longer Solskjaer papers over their cracks the more chance they have of hilariously giving him the job permanently. Wonderful.
They’ll get shown up, yet again, for what they are sooner or later, but hopefully there’ll be enough of them on the Solskjaer hype train by then that the board will have to give him the job just to avoid the fans going all “green and gold” on them again.

Ole's press conferences are a joy to watch. No mind games. No unnecessary statements. Of course its easy to be nice when things are going so well but going by the way he handles the complicated questions, it seems like he has a knack for these things.
Backroom staff are obviously vitally important, and OGS seems to have brought so much unity/enjoyment back to the club/staff/players/fans etc.
But it's a bit unfair to wonder how much influence the support staff has when we're doing well - but what about when we were fairly shit under Mourinho - what influence did Carrick/McKenna have back then?
It seems clear (perception obviously) that Carrick/McKenna are having much more of an influence for sure, than under Mourinho, but none of us know that for sure. Also, everyone having a greater input, and there being more unity is also a direct testament to how well OGS is doing.
There are obviously a lot of question marks for OGS - should he get the job permanently - but he's been answering a lot of those questions week by week. And his backroom staff obviously all have an input - but ultimately, the responsibility of good performances vs poor ones, will rest with OGS.

This is stuff of fairy tales. 6 out of 6 wins, first manager to do so. A legend player coming back to save the team/season. Top 4 doesn't look so impossible anymore. I suddenly begins to love some of the players. Man Utd got its attacking identity back.

Yes, obviously we are lucky to have De Gea. What should we have done to counter Spurs at that point though? I think after 60 minutes Spurs finally started exploiting the weaknesses in our defence which started showing after we fatigued somewhat. He couldn't really do anything about it because the ones on the pitch were our only fit defenders. We could have done with some more energy and defensive stability in midfield to help out the defence but the truth is none of the midfielders on the bench have proven they can be trusted in big games like these. We're just lacking quality in depth really.
Thoroughly agree with this. Really like how he shot down the reporter who tried to make this game about him vs Poch instead of Man Utd vs Spurs as well.
The part about Rashford and Martial starting only 15 times together under Mou is criminal. Talk about sabotaging yourself.
I know we've all said it a lot of times but he's just genuinely a very, very nice man and a warm personality.
Jurgen reigns supreme with as many league titles in his career as Ole and level with him on the amount of trophies won in the premier league.
We did perfect in the first half. Ole outplayed Poch. In the second half we had to sit back a bit more because its hard to play like we do. The players are growing under Ole and his style.
Even though we had tired legs in the second half, we never gave up attacking. We were pretty close to make it 2-0. Thats a big big change for us.

I agree, but I also think he sees it as his job/mandate to get as many of the players possible going no matter what form they're in, not just squeeze out results. An expensive player like Lukaku needs to be given the chance so that the club can find out whether he should have a future with us or not.
But still, I agree. Winning matches is still the most important thing and it was difficult so tactically justify what he brought to the game when he came on...

One of the alleged reasons for which we went to Dubai was poor fitness levels of our players. We supposed to catch up in this regard.

Spurs were gaining momentum in the game and had Kane, Alli, Lamela, Son and Eriksen who are all goal scoring forwards and quite capable of keeping the ball. We had two centre backs and two holding midfielders to mark them and that created a 4 v 5 overload. We needed another midfielder in there to stem the flow. Bringing Lukaku for Martial is opposite of that. Even just a formation change would help.
We have two home games next and it's a lot easier to give game time to players now.

The strange thing about people and who they think is a class manager is pretty awesome. If the manager is from Spain, Argentina, France or Italy, they are better. If they got a cool name, they are better.
I have worked with a lot of people and usually you cant tell a lot of a person before the person get a chance. Cristiano Ronaldo was never a star before he got the chance to be one. Sir Alex was nothing before he got the chance to be something.

What he actually meant was, he has no faith in starting two young attackers. At best he is willing to give one "kid" a start because he has to since he manages Manchester United. Whoever was willing to play as a fullback was chosen to start. Of course he was willing to swap one of those kids for an old hardworking winger like Willian or Perisic because that's all he knows.
You forgot that it's an away fixture. I think with the team like Tottenham playing at their own turf (London), it's only natural for them to give their all to score at the 2nd half.
Normally they would score, but De Gea's brilliance is also down to Ole's great trust and belief he brought to the team. I truly believe that the coaching staff tried their best to negate any threat in the 2nd half, I saw some pragmatism.
But we went through it somehow. Football is more than just tactics, luck is a part of skill too.
Got to thank LVG for these two. Even if Rashford's opportunity wasn't planned at all!
