The key was how Ole and the team bounced back from Burnley and Leicester. With burnley it was bad defending and almost lost points, and against Leicester we played average football. But today's performance is indication of there is consistency and sometime players could have an off day, yet win or at least salvage a point. That was showing of some character. Well done Ole.

You think it's fair to compare Ole's United with Spurs?
Pochettino build that team from scratch, he's had couple of seasons coaching that team to perfection and we still managed to beat them with a team that Ole couldn't change.
He improved us by a lot, we won big games under him.
If we finish top 4 he should be the first choice imo.

Poch is a clearly a great coach, but if Solskjaer can keep this up it has to be his job. He obviously has a good rapport with the team, and bringing back Mike Phelan was a great decision. The big difference between Jose and Ole in my opinion, is that Ole is doing the job with the club at the heart of his decisions-no favourites for him. Jose was to self absorbed.

I was very much on the Poch bandwagon and still believe Ole should have to get through this month ahead before definite decisions are made.
If we can get through Mid Feb - Mid March with our heads held high (get past PSG) and say 2 wins from any of Chelsea, City and Liverpool he definitely deserves it.

Apparently Tv2 Sport Premium which has the rights to the PL in Norway now has 90000 more subscribers since Ole took over.

In regards to the bold part, there is a way that Ole can prove to me that he is the right man for the job. Many top managers and top teams has gone against other top teams and showcased their class and dominance. For example, When City thrashed Liverpool 5-0, or when Pochettino Spurs defeated Madrid 3-1 and ended Chelsea unbeaten run this season. I am still waiting for that moment with Ole United. There will be more things to assess, like how he handles pressure and how we would perform when our top players are absent. But at the moment, these are some things I would like Ole to be tested on.

Wasn’t a fan of the heavy rotation and don’t think I ever will be of that approach but, fair play it worked out and he continues to win.

You can’t compare the two. Poch has showed consistency throughout multiple seasons, whereas Ole hasn’t been tested that way yet.
Even though Ole has done well so far, the stars has aligned perfectly so far from him. He has not been plagued with any crucial injuries, Mourinho did so much damage to team morale, that our players were hungry for a different/positive approach, he has had an easy early fixtures, he came in when there was not any pressure for him to succeed, he established a team with hidden potential that cost upward of £300m plus and so on. Furthermore, with Neymar potentially out of the champions league tie against us, that give him a great chance to add beaten PSG on his cv. Could you imagine if United went into this tie without Pogba? I believe if he does remain, his real test will come next season, when the pressure will be on him to win the title and further establish his own vision onto this United team. However, their are still some test that needs to be conducted this season to see whether he is the right man for the job.
I keep hearing and reading that "if he gets top 4..." and I find it so unfair. If we want to judge Solskjaer on league results then we should look at his own league table since he was appointed. It's not his fault that we were managed by some useless tool before, who left us so far even from our minimum goals of the season.
I think the decision should be based on diverse factors anyway and not just results, and the way I see it he's doing it well in all of them. The way we play football, the respect he's earning among the players and how he gets the best out of them. His communication in general, how he understands and teaches the culture of this club every time he speaks. The influence he's having at every level just as an interim coach is increible, and for some people there's only "but's" and "if's".
With all that said, next month is brutal and will demand a lot from him in terms of managing the squad, preparing the team for hard games, finding solutions during matches when we are in trouble (which will happen at some point against such teams for sure). So we'll know more and better about him and it will be easier to make a final decision. But I have the feeling that some people decided two months ago that they didn't want him as a coach, and now they are giving very thin margins by setting the bar so high, asking for silly things and finding problems where there isn't any. I hope there's more clued people at the club.

I'm just wholly enjoying the ride under him right now. It feels fecking great to be a United fan again and the team are playing about as composed as we have been since 2008/9.
Looking forward to every match no matter who we come up against and if we do end up losing then I feel like we're in a good place to learn from it. I was on the Poch bandwagon before Ole came but it's reached a point where my questions on who should get the job has turned from "Poch has done so-and-so for so-and-so long, what has Ole done", to "Ole has done so-and-so (at the very club he should be doing it), what has Poch done."

I can list Mourinho trophy haul and he produce some of the worst football United fans have seen since our name was Newton Heath LYR football club. Poch will get trophy if he spends like a top club. Heck perhaps if he spends even half of what a club like United or City has spent.

There's no evidence of this, it's all theory so far. There's also evidence suggest that chucking out the current backroom staff and throwing in a load of randomers from another club will hurt us more than it will help us.

I agree, it is theory at the moment, but When I see how well he is doing with so little spent, it is hard not to say it won’t be empirical. United has benefited from spending a large amount and so have city and Liverpool. It is hard to imagine a manager like Poch who has done well with so little would not as well.

But these results came after both managers had at the very least a season and two summer transfer windows. To expect him to do that now and base your criteria for him getting the job on that is quite unrealistic. If we get decent results against city, PSG, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal - a mixture of wins and draws - then he will have proven his worth. To be fair I fully expect us to be shown we just aren’t quite there against PSG, but if we got out on say a 3-2 aggregate and it was just them having the better players then that doesn’t go against Ole.
Pochettino defeated Chelsea 5-3 in his first season at Spurs, which gave his side their first win in five years against them. There are more examples of that with these other managers. Such a result relieved to Spurs fan that this guy can go to a big team and show some dominance. It is possible for Ole to do it right now. If he can show dominance against small teams, then he can show it as well against bigger teams. If he gets decent result and good performance against those side then he passes that test.
That is my fear also. It's not just Ole. Don't get me wrong he deserves huge credit but it's the management team who have been getting these result. The staff that live and breathe Man Utd. Along with Ole they know what it takes to succeed at a club like Utd. It's true that Ole only knows that as a player but others have sat in that dug out and been part of the most successful period ever.
To a degree I can understand why Moyes wanted he own people but I honestly feel getting rid of the back room staff was his biggest mistake. I would probably concede that LVG or Mou would have done the same if they were straight in after Fergie.
Hopefully Ole passes Amadeus' test.

I'm not sure it's a fair measuring stick. I'd argue heavily that Mou beating Juve this year 2-1 doesn't take away the poor performances and results against other "lesser" teams. A manager should be judged on all their performances. No good beating one of the top 6 5-0 in one game then draw the next few agaist so called lesser opposition. I would agree that winning the league will meaning having to beat top quality opposition along the way but you also need to beat most of the rest along the way too.
