Play the long game here. 5-0 to United tomorrow makes people think they've been excellent in Europe.

They'll go out eventually. I'm hoping for a semi-final for United - boosts English coefficients and Moyes stays.

we will win...but go out in the next round. Moyes will have one more season to prove he can win the title with the players he wants. If he does not he will be gone and the Glazers will appoint a top coach. no worries.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013–14_Olympiacos_F.C._season

They've won 19 of their last 20 league games (Total: 24-2-0)

But they've lost their by far best player Mitroglou to Fulham and Weiss (Yes the former Man City player....7 goals this season) has left the club too

The fact alone that Olympiakos has lost their best player ("by far") to Fulham tells me all I need to know about Olympiakos. This can't be just another one of those "job done" wins. Let's do these guys in hard, away and back home.

I suppose that would depend on whether our current strength is closer to that of PSG or Benfica, as by the looks of it they were able to hold their own against the latter well enough.

I know we have some Portuguese fans on the forum but i can't remember off hand if any follow Benfica.

Losing their best player to Fulham just tells you what you need to know about them as a club, not much to do with the team itself.

You wouldn't expect us to lose our best player to Everton, but here we are, in February with them outperforming us this season so far.

I expect a tough game and would be happy with a score draw.

They have sold their best player to Fulham and Saviola, another potential goal threat is injured. Not sure if they have lot of goals in them. We need to be patient and take our chances. We can very well come back with 2-0 away win once more in space of 4 days, if we keep it tight at back, keep cool and keep prodding like we did vs. Palace.

Shame Welbeck is not going to be match fit. We'll probably see Valencia or Kagawa in for Mata, and maybe the other one for Januzaj.

Sure it does. I suppose it's theoretically possible for a team to be a better team without its best ("by far") player but that's not how it usually works. Based on what little we know about this opponent I would think we'd all agree that we go into the game as heavy favorites. Key players have returned from injury and we just polished off a side over the weekend that is probably one or two rungs above Olympiakos. Short of horror refereeing (Cuneyt v Nani), this should be a straightforward win by at least a two goal margin.

I agree with this despite the Greeks great record

The telling thing will be our attitude WHEN we go 1-0 up - players need to go out and keep playing for a second

The players seem to realise this is our season and are really up for it

The 1st game was played in a storm and the pitch ended up waterlogged. It was just a game of hit and hope for 90 minutes. The 2nd game, Olympiakos keeper put on a masterclass.

So apparently there are Manchester United fans stuck at Manchester airport because the pilot of the Thomas Cook flight to Athens has gone missing...

Im feeling pretty good about this evening, daring to hope, at the risk of getting ahead of myself, that the worst is now behind us and we will gradually keep getting better. It may not be the most exciting game ever, this evening, but I think it will be comfortable enough.

Ok. Thanks a million.

not many hotels have sky though...not for free anyways.

there is a chance that they will have a swiss channel though...they also show it. SF1 or SF2.

in berlin you should also find some betting cafe within a radius of 100m...you could watch it there...

Kagawa surely will play. He's performed well in the champions league and hasn't played a game since forever

If he doesn't start you can be sure that he's going in the summer. Young has been getting the nod in the Prem, but deary me Young is a very limited player. If he not only plays Young again, but goes back to 4-4-2 to accomodate him over Kagawa, that has to be curtains for him.

I want to see:

.....................................................De Gea............................................................

Rafael.............................Rio.......................................Vidic...............................Evra

....................................Fellaini...................................Carrick..................................

Adnan.................................................Rooney..............................................Kagawa

.........................................................RVP............................................................

I think Moyes will play it a bit more safe, especially away from home. Valencia will surely come in instead of Mata, especially if Rafael isn't starting. With them losing 2 of their main strikers and Weiss, we can get a goal or 2 here I feel. Organisation Esther than flowing football I suspect tonight.

I'd be pretty surprised if it's not

DDG
Smalling
Rio
Vidic
Evra
Valencia
Carrick
Cleverley
Young
Rooney
RvP

Both Valencia and Young is a bit overkill. Hopefully one of Kagawa, Welbeck or Januzaj will play on the other wing.

------------De Gea
Rafael---Rio---Vidic--Evra
--------Carrick--Fellaini
Januzaj--Rooney--Kagawa
----------van Persie
