Yeah but he's probably got a hard on cos they've put Star Wars at #1.
That's great but Batman on third position and Inception at tenth (and many other stupid decisions) make the list ridiculous. Also as Brwned said, Aliens above Alien is pretty stupid.

Also, Skyfall being the highest rated James Bond movie is laughable. It isn't even the best JB movie with the current actor.

Is Aliens above Alien such a big deal? I rate Alien higher, but Aliens is one of the best sequels of all time, probably the best sci-fi actionfilm of all time and in my opinion Cameron's best work. Never thought Aliens > Alien is a controversial opinion and most of the time both films are rated close to each other.

Don't agree. Alien is much more than just an action sci-fi move that Aliens was. A perfect blend of horror, suspense with the added claustrophobic feel of being alone in space. The direction is superb as well and visually how many shots are presented in Alien is brilliant. It really does makes you feel the uneasiness that the cast is supposed to feel in that ship.

Yeah, of course, I agree with all that. It's totally different. Alien isn't an action sci-fi movie at all and like I said I rate it higher. I just think that you can make a case for Aliens being the best film of its subgenre, one of the greatest actionfilms of all time overall. I just don't see it as especially controversial if someone prefers Aliens over Alien. Both are excellent in their own way. There are so many horrible choices in that list, Aliens > Alien isn't one that sticks out to me.

It's far from the worst one but from what I remember the action in Alien was every bit as good as the action in Aliens - although there was less of it - and on top of that you had elements of horror and drama mixed in with great acting/directing/art direction, none of which were really present to the same standard in Aliens. I personally think if Aliens wasn't a sequel it wouldn't be that highly rated.

Are you still binge watching films or did Solaris kill it?
Didn't had that much time this week cause I was busy with real life stuff and Watchdods video game is spending all my free time.

Planning to watch Stalker next and then either on a Scorcese marathon (those I have missed) or far eastern movies.

That Empire list is dreadful. As mentioned above, the previous one was much better. I attributed The Dark Knight's high position to it's then recent release, but it seems it's just grown in stature for some reason.

I like Nolan, best director in Hollywood right now, but 2 films in the top 10 is a joke. Plus his best film is definitely The Prestige. Bowie
