OT EVACUATED | Device signed as having been recovered, could NOT be detected by sniffer dogs

But even then... why is it up to the police when they start negotiating a replay?

Would imagine its purely that the police aren't allowing free movement within the stadium yet. Not that they cant arrange replay, more they cant do jack shit until police and now apparently the army are satisfied their job is done.

I am not an expert on bombs, but for any IED, you would need to have shit loads of explosive to have any sort of major impact..

and such loads cannot be brought into the stadium and be in packages. am I being stupid here??

Pipes would be the shrapnel.

The police obviously need to confirm the new date. I can understand them not wanting to get into all that until the current situation is resolved.

I could see it being big enough to wipe out the toilets, and there's a tonne of people in there at half time.

The goal is to hurt people, you can use a modest amount of explosives in a bag full of shrapnels.

PS: This is not an advice.

Say what you will, but these are some cute looking sniffer dogs. Glad these fellas are on the job.

use remote controlled robots with shotguns to investigate then if they can with it shoot explosive tips on the detonation control section of the package. Then if there's a fail safe it will detonate the full bomb, if not then it's safer for them to move in and disassemble.

My brother worked in bomb disposal for the British Army, based out of RAF Northolt he covered London & South East of England, the police don't have their own bomb disposal. If something looks really suspect they call the army in who will usually do a controlled explosion if they agree it is really suspect.

What a cutie! Yes, the whole security operation have been carried out in a very, well, secure manner.

No, but a box with a mobile phone stuck on (supposedly) would.
@dwd they should be picking up a box. Everytime I've been, you take your jacket off and get patted down. Anything in your hands is checked.

It would only have been assembled once inside though.

I'm guessing they'd make us replay if a draw for us would take us back up to 5th? "Fairness" and other such bullcrap.

Yes. A small amount of explosives with a load of nails/ball bearings around it will cause a lot of injuries (and worse) in a crowded area

British Police are probably the best in the world, in my (admittedly limited) experience. The French, Germans and Yanks have equally well trained forces, but the Brits do it without resorting to bullying tactics every two minutes.
