Otelul Galati Vs Man Utd

We'll get them in the second half I'm sure. Not exactly the most entertaining match so far but we can easily step up another few gears against this lot.

We've been fine up until the final third where we have been horrendous, no craft and horrible execution. I think there is an eye on the weekend to be honest, we need to up the tempo a bit and just be smarter in the final third, we haven't been bad at all just lacking in precision.

The players look half asleep. The only positives are Carrick and Evra.

Carrick and Anderson have looked excellent. But the front players have been wasteful, Valencia looks really rusty.

Overall, we've played within ourselves and been slightly lazy IMO.

Poor. Truly poor. Ponderous. They've had more shots than we have, deservedly so. If we continue to play like that this there's a chance that Galati could hit us on the counter and get a goal. We really haven't done enough to open them up. Really, really surprised by Valencia who hasn't tried to take on his full back once with his pace and power you'd think he'd be trying to get around the back of Galati and get balls into the box but it just hasn't happened. Evra is clearly the best United player at the moment.

Hmm, communication needs to improve. Been a few wayward passes in defense or misunderstandings in the final third. Midfield has been alright though, Carrick has been one of our better plays out there.

Up the gears in the second half hopefully.

I'm quite happy these players didn't start at Anfield tbh if this is how they would have played :nervous:

If we could get out of first gear it would help, we look so slow in the final third.

Well the only good thing from watching this match is that i saw an irish lass in the crowd that i always seem to bump into and have a good laugh with when i goto euro away matches. Apart from seeing her, i was about to nod off.

Fit?

Some of the reactions in this thread are just as bad as our play in the final third, I didn't think Galati was going to be as easy a game as people were making out after looking at their first 2 results.

Played some nice football until the final third,in which rooney, hernadez and valencia have conspired to mess everything up.Should come good second half when tiredness and space becomes more available.

Is anyone else thinking this game may suit Berbatov? Whenever we get near goal they seem to block everything. Our build up is quite slow and we keep trying to be too clever to create an opening. It's not working. Maybe a bit of extra craft and vision could make the difference?

Carrick and Anderson have both been awful. Just because they've made some passes doesn't mean they've played well. They've both given the ball away numerous times, haven't played any meaningful passes, and are as responsible as anybody for our poor tempo

That wasn't shit football. The final third play was a bit poor but 'across the board' suggests that the whole team was rubbish which clearly wasn't the case. The two central midfielders have been excellent.

Clearly?

You can't just throw that word into your post to validate your argument. We have been very poor against a team that is about AFC Bournemouth's level.

Player of the half for United: Lindegaard

On the plus side, Evra seems to be back in form. I thought he was good on the weekend as well.

Good summary. People make it sound as if we've been struggling to get forward passes going. Very wasteful indeed but a few players were superb (central midfielders funnily enough) and if they keep that up the attackers should keep getting into decent positions and you'd have to believe they'd perform better in the second.

no, jesus christ the tempo of the game is slow enough, bring on the berbs and we will all be falling asleep

lulz

I'm pretty sure I could look in form against Otelul Galati.

It's as if all that have to do is turn up.... we've been lackluster in the CL this season, so this isn't anything new.

Not bad that, Romania is never an easy place to travel to.
Otelul`s clearly a decent team.
