Our Rivals Squad next year - Arsenal

what happende to the Aurier link?

And one of Podolski/Cazorla would need to be sold.. too many players who can play behind the striker.

If Arsenal get Khedeira then they have 4 world cup winners in the squad.

Whether the squad which is made of paper can actually stay fit for a whole season is another thing. If they can stay fit, then they will win the title in my opinion.

Next season might still be a bit early. I'm looking for us to be in a title challenge until the last three games of the season, and a CL semi-final.

I can see them finishing above one of City or Chelsea but not both. Think they make it to the last 8 of the CL but no further.

They are looking good if they sign Khedira. Not many rate him I know, but I think he's an effective cog in the midfield. I was astonished to see how forward he was at times for Germany in the WC. Thought he was a straight up anchorman, but he showed me how wrong I was and that he can be a pretty decent box-to-box too.

Bring in a quality defender and a forward, and I can see them securing top 4 at a record pace.

I thought personally he's was Germany's best player this world cup.

I think no one can really say Khedira was better than Neuer, Hummels and Müller
Yeah players like Khedira are doing the dirty stuff.....but Neuer, Hummels and Müller were so outstanding for Germany during the tournament
It's your opinion so okay....but i'm shocked if someone says Khedira was better than this three players

I agree with you - there were better players.

But...if you guys don't get Vidal - he would have been great for you.

I would take Khedira but there are still much better options...like Carvalho (I like this guy)
Our midfield is terrible (Hererra is a great start) so Khedira would help us so much.....but he'll not make a big difference for Arsenal, Chelsea or Man City if he would go there now

Muller and Neuer were the most important but I think the overall impact Khedira had in terms of the actual flow of the game was greater than Muller, although if you took either Muller of Neuer out of the equation then I doubt they would have won the World Cup, but I also feel that about Khedira too.

I didn't think Hummels was the best, top 5 Germany players but that's about it for this tournament.

On one hand they have strengthened in attack, which was their weak area last year. Alexis will have a big impact and I was impressed by Sanogo at the end of last season. Their attacking midfield has always been very strong. Plus the FA cup and the WC win will give their confidence a big boost.

On the other hand they are really lacking depth at the back. They lost Fabianski and Sagna, who was arguably their second best player last season, Vermaelen is rumored to leave as well. Arteta is also getting old and not able to shield the defense so well. They will be vulnerable at the back - couple players getting injured for a month or two and they will be leaking goals like a sieve. If they get Debuchy and another 1-2 defenders they will be a force.

In other words, Arsenal are the biggest wildcard this season in my opinion. They could have a great season and win the PL or they could fail miserably and finish lower than us last season. Somehow Arsene manages always to get a top 4th spot, so most likely they will do the same this year, but very unlikely higher than 3rd.

I'd agree with all that. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see chesney get injured now that Fab has left.

Diaby now carries a bandage at all times when training.

Chesney
Debuchy-Kos-Merte-Gibbs/New LB
Wilshere-Ramsey
Walcott-Ozil-Sanchez
Giroud/New Striker

Looks pretty good. Left back is still a problem for me.

Khedira is a no go personally. I don't rate him personally plus I think he'll go to Chelsea.

Really? Thought he was excellent in the World Cup, always been reliable for Real Madrid.

Not a player I particularly want or think we need, Matic provides a good enough balance with the other midfielders we have, but wouldn't be too downhearted if he signed.

If Wenger has a brain he won't field Wilshere and Ramsey as a deep midfield pairing. Against top teams and a smart manager they'd be overrun.

Still think their defence will struggle to win the Premiership. Debuchy wasn't all that Newcastle and when he was good, it was his attacking play that shone, he's a downgrade on Sagna unless he improves.

Koscienly is a quality defender and one of the best in the Prem and Mertersacker alongside him is solid enough although he is liable against pace. Gibbs can't get any consistency due to injuries and there are question marks over him. While Sczensy is a very good keeper, he always seems likely to make a mistake which could prove costly at the top level.

I think Khedira is being seriously overrated now that Arsenal fans are so desperate for him. He'll have a great game here and there but is average most days.

Certainly don't think he's the player that "takes them to the next level" like I keep hearing. Not sure how a midfield pairing of Ramsey and Khedira would work since they both play in a similar way. He's not a DM.

So after 2 underwhelming years at Newcastle, Debuchy is now a good signing? Sagna was better.

Desperate?

Mertesacker is injured for the first few games. A quality CB is a priority. No way we are selling TV at this point.

you don't think Sanchez will play upfront?

Would be a move strange because informed LA Liga watchers tell me that finishing is his weak point.

Great squad

Is this the season Wenger can stop using the "we are a seller club" shield? This is the season he can get exposed big time

Another Arshavin hopefully!

My Arsenal supporting work coleague is convined he'll be playing upfront, he knows feck all though.

Well either way it's nice to have options. If we don't buy a true striker then I'd agree with him!

He's a good signing in that he's got PL experience, is reasonably priced and has the quality to slot right in. I don't think anybody is claiming he's the messiah or anything.

Nobody really knows but AW. There's thinking that he might be another Henry and be converted.

I doubt it, Henry was a bit spesh, Sanchez is a very good player in the right setup, never played up front though, unless i've missed something.

Well Henry was an Italian reject at the time we signed him. He took some time to grow into the role. Maybe AW has decided that this is the year that Walcott plays up front and AS takes over on RW.

Possibilities, possibilities.

Surprised that hasn't happened sooner.
