Why do people take that as a sign? Same things you read from fans every year

Rooney will be talking about it as he will have been asked. Nothing to it. It's his opinion not anything that sheds light on the status of the transfer. Stop being so desperate and be patient.

I don't, can't say I pay much attention to other teams transfer sagas. I certainly can't remember United players doing it.
Don't think that United players were doing it, Fergie wouldn't have approved. Barca and Real used it quite often though, the Fabregas saga was just the worst example of it, every week Xavi or Iniesta or someone else will speak up about Fabregas, his Barca's DNA and him being trapped in England, it was bloody annoying.

Interesting thing about that Rooney article. Written by same person who did 'Fergie gives green light to Pogba story in the Mail on Saturday', something which is also referenced in this piece.

No way would Rooney talk about it without been asked to prior to the interview, same imo with Zlatan last night, the question of course is why.

Rubbish. Rooney is still a quality player. His place is threatened now and it will be interesting to see his reaction.

He was our primary striker last season and scored 8 EPL goals.
Answer this question: do you think that MUFC's No.1 striker scoring 8 league goals, is acceptable?

For me, an 8 goal per season striker shouldn't even make the bench for West Ham, let alone MUFC.
Even LVG stated that he was hoping for a 20 EPL goals per season striker, suggesting that Rooney could do this.
Unfortunately for LVG, Rooney failed and we could only get 5th place, which resulted in LVG's sacking.

Maybe your standards are very low and you think that MUFC deserve to have a striker who scores 8 EPL goals per season. I don't.
And Rooney shouldn't even be on our bench (for reasons explained above), let alone our first XI.

No updates so in the last 5 hours? This is getting a bit annoying, I really hope we finalise this shite this week.

That is not a bad point at all. And no, 8 goals is nowhere near good enough, even if you take some of those games playing in midfield into account.

However, Rooney is far from the only person accountable for three poor seasons.

With Rooney he has the hunger and desire to win, he's a good captain. He just doesn't look sharp or fit. He lacks acceleration or dribbling.

The best moment for me of Rooney in years has been his final against Crystal Palace (FA Cup) where he did the dribble past several players, it's the first time in years he's made me think "Why can't he do this more often".

But then again he didn't play the season as our main striker did he?

Hope he's not having second thoughts, therefore players feeling the urge to speak out

yeah, thats what I though too.

Very odd that 2 existing players would speak so publicly about a proposed transfer. I think thats unprecedented in recent Manchester United history?

HAPPY PO6BA DAY

Hope today is finally the day

It could be as early as today, Juventus don't announce transfer dealings on weekeneds. Players had a game on Saturday, the weekend seemed a no-go.

It could be today (Monday) due to Rooneys testimonial match against Everton on the 3rd. The latest it'll be is probably a week today.

There's been no update since Friday night.
Which is what everyone expected. Nothing ever happens on the weekend for us. We should hopefully get more information tomorrow, but considering Pogba is still on holiday, this could well take close to another week.

Because its Sunday evening and there is nothing to say. They have said everything. He will be a United player this week. If there is no update you guys complain they should say something but when they come and say something, you say its the same shit and they shouldnt say anything. You can never win.

 So true

2 key players openly talking about the transfer now, amazing some still deny it's even happening!

People just want the same shit to be repeated over and over, because they are scared that a little silence from journalists who have others matters to attend to surely means that Real Madrid must have swooped and taken him.

Silence is good. Nothing has changed from last week, where it was said it's all but done and he will sign this week.

Patience.

Can't see anything happening until he's back from holiday. We've got a busy week too with the testimonial and then charity shield. Think next Monday it'll be announced.

it's like the jose signing all over again. Everyone reliable says pogba is coming, I don't think there is one reliable journo adamant that he isn't coming. Yet now the hype has died down, esepcially from Di Marzio etc some fans think this is a bad sign.

Just like Jose, we all know this is happening, even Zlatan knows it's happening :lol:

Don't know why but I got an alert from this post.

Actually, I was replying to @Twigginater who said: "These big players keep letting us down as well. Di Maria, Falcao and BS arrived with the most hype of our signings....". But then the likes of yourself insisted on butting in to make a federal issue out of it.

And you'll find that, outside the red-tinted confines of this board, the view that Pogba is well over-hyped is quite widespread. But then I guess for you, any opinion that dares to question the herd-orthodoxy of newly-found Pogba fan-boys, must be "ridiculous and imaginary".

And thus Pogba joins the ranks of the many players who are hailed as world class, or close to it, as soon as they are about to sign for United. I've seen all them come and go ... mostly go.
I think it's best to look at all the big names that came here and failed individual circumstances. 2 of them came after having injury problems and Di Maria didn't suit Van Gaals football + was unsettled in Manchester

Pogba doesn't have those injuries, seems like the perfect Mourinho player and has lived in Manchester for 3 years before so must surely like the place if he's willing to come back.

Just grouping all the big names together like that is too black and white

Moved it to the right thread

I think we'll announce him moments after City announce Sane/ Jesus/ Stones and steal their thunder.

Cue pandemonium on BlueMoon and how the media are bent rags and biased against us...

Yeah because Utd fans in here never say the media is biased against us

To be honest I don't read man city's forum, or any other teams for that matter

But I very often see people on here think the media is constantly against Utd.

THE 2015 FIFA FIFPRO WORLD XI
Goalkeeper:
Manuel Neuer (Germany, FC Bayern Munich)

Defenders:
Dani Alves (Brazil, FC Barcelona)
Sergio Ramos (Spain, Real Madrid CF)
Thiago Silva (Brazil, Paris Saint-Germain)
Marcelo (Brazil, Real Madrid CF)

Midfielders:
Paul Pogba (France, Juventus)
Luka Modric (Croatia, Real Madrid CF)
Andrés Iniesta (Spain, FC Barcelona)

Forwards
Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal, Real Madrid CF)
Lionel Messi (Argentina, FC Barcelona)
Neymar Jr. (Brazil, FC Barcelona)

This means that, as voted for by other professional footballers (not bad judges), Pogba is rated as one of the top world class players in the world right now (not potential). He is also significantly younger than all but one of those players (means more potential to improve)

He is also rated as one of the top three midfielders in the world right now (not potential). He is also significantly younger than the other two midfielders (means more potential to improve)

So, to summarise:

- One of the best players in the world right now
- Potential to be even better, maybe the best in the world.

Looks like Pogba is the youngest world class player in the list too (1 year younger than Neymar), and I am sure if Neymar were to transfer at todays market, he would probably cost at least 120m or more. So I would even say its a fair deal for Pogba.

Rooney and Ibra have talked openly about Pogba joining. It's only a matter of time.
