If the figures and payments are true, we could sell deadwood this summer and pay for Pogbas fee for the year. If it is paid over 3 years what a great deal we've got ourselves.

I’d been one of the non-believers from the start and there was no way I would have thought that we would be able to sign him. :annoyed:

Now that everything is sorted I’m so fecking happy that we’ll get our Paul back!!

I’ve loved his style from play since the time he arrived from Le Harve and was so disappointed when he left. However, I’ve never stopped following and watching him and his development. He’s a great player with loads of potential and his prime years to come. I’m sure that Mou will improve him and take him to the next level. He has all the attributes our midfield’s been lacking for a long time now and I’m so excited to see him back in our shirt.

Even though I don’t like the Chevy logo at our chest and weren’t willing to buy a shirt as long as they’re on it, I’ll get my Pogba shirt the moment he signs and confirms his number.

#Pogback

Isn't Higuain's transfer around 45m euros per season for the next two seasons? We're not even funding that in terms of cash flows

I remember at the start of the window listening to Talksport and one of the foreign journos, maybe Marcotti, not sure , but he was asked about Pogba to United and he said it was very 'difficult' and unlikely and that of course Real we're more likely if he left Juventus. To get to the stage we're at with this transfer is quite an achievement by the board.

Does anyone think we're gonna try sign one more "big" player? Like James, Griezmann, etc?

Looks like Zidane has confirmed Pogba interest, dont think we will be able to sign him now.We should have closed the deal ages ago, same old Mr Woodward.

Moratta saying we haven't made any contact regarding Pogba,so i guess all the news was made up.

If the deal was that close then i don't think Raiola would have tweeted that.I think the media have no idea whats going on.

Can anyone fill me with optimism.Looks like we are about to lose out on another player to Madrid.

So @tancredipalmeri on @talkSPORTLive says #RMCF are going big for #Pogba

A poster said this is what he said.I hope this is not true.

According to Tancredi and Spanish press Madrid are back in for Pogba. If Madrid are back in then we know how it will end up.

Juventus CEO Marotta: "Pogba to United? We'll see. Right now everything has stopped"

What does it mean, everything has stopped.

What do you guys think of the latest Zidane comment on Pogba?

Not loooking good guys

Zidane: "Until 31st August, anything can happen (in the transfer window). Today, Pogba is not yet a Real Madrid player."

Before you guys say something and i don't know how much truth is in there, but a guy in twitter said Italian and Spanish papers will run that Pogba is joining Madrid story in their tomorrow newspaper exclusive edition.

In all this happiness, let's not forget @ehsanul's valiant efforts.

I was a little worried this would all go belly up so I did my best not to go full muppet. Having sat myself down and had a word with myself, I am now willing to embrace full muppet syndrome next summer when we are after Griezmann :drool::drool:

I still can't believe he cost so much. I mean he's good but he goes missing (literally, he misses everything) in big games.

Always go full muppet!

The agent fee is not relevent in the overall cost.

The transfer fee is £89m. The agent fee is a seperate payment.

So why do we feel the need to combine the two? Do all transfer fees have agent fees stuck in with them when reported?

Mainly because very few agent fee's are usually this high. Pogba joined Juventus on a free transfer and Riola managed to get a 20% future transfer clause added to his contract, he's probably gonna pick up between 20-30m on this deal alone.

Maybe.

Even if it didn't this is a stupid amount for an agent fee, and should still be considered in the price involved of bringing Pogba to United.

Rarely. People talked about this one because of the size of the fee and who should be paying it and what the split should be.

Doubt it will be talked about any more now.

No it shouldn't.

None of the transfer fees ever include the agent fees. People are idiots if they think that Madrid didn't pay the huge agent fees to Ronaldo and Bale's agents but somehow they are not included in the transfer fees. Even Hazard agent was paid around 5 or 6m pounds in fees.

Isnt the difference that roaila is owed a percentage of the next sale (around 20% from what I remember) rather than the usual agent fee?

That talk died down, no one knows if it's even true. Di Marzio in his latest only talks of Raiola's brokerage/agent fee being additional to the €105m.

This isn't naming and shaming or proving people wrong, but going through the first pages of this thread it's nice to see how many people wanted it to happen but thought it was impossible (I did too) given how things turned out 1000 pages later!
Good post! I was very, very negative at the start, so it's fun that you took the time to find that post! And now I'm all butterflies, flowers and rainbows! Cheers, mate!

Doesn't every agent usually get a cut of a transfer deal (#fmknowledge)? The fee might be large on this occasion, but I don't see why it should be talked about in accordance with transfer fees?

Yesterday on the picnic my brother told me, that Juve is expecting Pogba to be back in training on monday and I just laughed at him and sayed to him that he will be United player by wednesday. He said he is happy if Pogba leave because Juve will het 140m€ for him, I didn't know where he picked that number and just sayed to him it is not my money, I just want to watch Pogba in United shirt.

When I came home I saw United tweet and Di Marzio tweet that it is 105+5m€ transfer paid in 3 years. FFS they spend 90m€ for Higuain which will be payed in 2 years, the will not cover Higuain transfer in the first 2 years with Pogba money and Higuain will be 29 years old in december and he was never one of the very best strikers.
Yes I think Juve are getting a lot of money for Pogba but I can't understand how they spend so much for Higuain.

I also don't think we spend that to much for Pogba, I mean we sold C.Ronaldo back in 2008 where the transfer fees were not that big for 94m€ which was paid in 1 payment. Yes he was the best player in the world at that time but getting the biggest talent in midfield position and one of the best midfielders around for just 11m€ more in the 2016 when unproven talents are going for 80m€ (Renato Sanchez and Martial) is a good deal. That we will pay that in 3 years and not in 1 payment in just a bonus. Big bonus.

Rio, Carrick, Evra, Vidic to name a few from the same era. Not even starting on the likes of Schmikes, Irwin, Solskjær etc. during the 90s. We've had some unbelievable value signings over the years.

I said in all the years I have been supporting United, I never said in the entire history of the club, the 90's is more than 20 years ago, why still speak of the 90's ?

I'am talking about the last 10 years or something, we have had many failed signings, many expensive signings, very few players we actually got that developped into a player that is worth more than we bought him for, let alone much more. Rio, Vida, Carrick and Evra are indeed also examples of value signings, together with the 3 I named that is about it for the past 10 years I think. Not a whole lot if you compare it to other teams. The list of the ones that failed and cost alot of money aswell is considerably longer.

But it is ok we are not a club that has to create value through it is transfer activities, we are a club that has to make value through building and retaining the image of being one of the best clubs in the world and that you can only do that by winning trophies and being successful and United has been just that except the last 3 years ofcourse.

But we do not create alot of value through our transfers, and buying Pogba for more than 100m euros whilst we sold him for 300k is also not value, no matter what way you look at it. But it is ok because we need players like him if we want to win trophies and we want people to regard us as a real top club, so I'am not contesting the signing in any way but people that call it a bargain or creating value, really need to have their head checked. Creating value would have been keeping Pogba in the first place.
