Paul Pogba

Pogba will be Scholes' replacement. When I watch him play I just think there are so many uncanny similarities to Scholes. Even if it's just the way he sweeps the ball from the centre straight into a wingers path with the outside of his foot. He's a silky passer and is very imaginative when he's in his groove. I remember one particular pass in the youth cup vs Sheffield last season where he volleyed it first time into a runners path about 25-30 yards down the pitch. I reckon he's one of the most talented passers that we currently have and I wouldn't be surprised if he proves to be the best that we have in that aspect.

Apperances aside, they're nothing really alike.

Pogba is talented as anything but has some work to do so that he turns into more than just the next Diaby.

He's only just started playing in the reserves. He may be a great talent but, even to play in Cup games he'll need to be head and shoulders above everyone else. Perhaps he's starting to show that and maybe that's why the boss says he'll figure but, I don't think we need to rush giving 1st team games just so he feels he has a future. Don't think we have to worry too much about signing him to a long term contract if he indeed will be as immense so far his talents have shown.

I want to reply but don't have the willpower...:(

Squad, not team. You still have Fletcher who wasn't involved today and Giggs ahead of him.

He is most likely to be involved against Leeds in some capacity, and then possibly a lesser Euro tie.

Maybe the 6th of the group, if we're qualified? Or against Oțelul Galați (home).

I actually had to go and look up the name of that team.

That remains to be seen, at the start of the season most would have placed both Giggs and fletcher ahead of Cleverley too!

If Fergie wants to keep the dynamism in midfield, then Giggs is probably the man, but Pogba would be worth a shout at OT, considering how well the team is playing atm.

Time will tell but it's nice to have such an option. Hopefully Clevelrys injury isn't as bad as it could be and we go from there

There's a big difference between a 22 year old with 3 years of experience playing in competitive football.

Fletch would be a decent shout too, although Carrick and Anderson looked a decent combination today.

But he is talented and we've seen talented kids come in and then they have to take their opportunity. It might not come immediately but you'd think leeds would be a decent test for a few of our kids.

Carrick and Anderson looked more than decent last season too. They would be numbers one and two in the pecking order right now. Giggs and Fletcher not far behind. Pogba a good way behind those four. Mental to claim otherwise.

The Benfica game? I'd be v surprised, esp. since SAF stated that he would bring some experience into the side for the game.

Not to start, just to be on the bench, to get a taste of it. I don't think Ferguson will play a full team. There'll be a good few changes. I'd expect him to get a run-out later in the group stage, if we have qualified early.

Not really enough slots on the bench to waste one giving a youngster a taste of first-team football. Fergie's brought youngsters abroad in the past with no intention of putting them in the squad on the day, though, just for the experience. Might happen here.

With this being the hardest game on paper, there is little chance of being involved. But Ferguson has done stranger things before!

I presume Carrick and Giggs/Anderson will play with Fletcher coming on at some stage.

Pogba still has a way to go before he's ready at this level. bear in mind the way we're playing is so much faster than before. He scores amazing goals, has a great touch, but there is still a doubt about his positioning and his ability to dominate the midfield even in reserve games.

He's just started training with the first team which will improve him. But there is still quite a way to go yet!

I think he'll rest Anderson, or at least place him on the bench. Park, Giggs, Carrick, Fletcher all come into consideration, maybe even Berbatov.

Berbatov in midfield?

We're so spoiled with young talents it's almost untrue. I expect Pogba to have a full season training with the first team, maybe a cameo here and there, and then go on loan next season. Highly doubt he will be able to leapfrog the likes of Carrick or Fletcher anytime soon.

Of course not, I was talking in general about freshening up the side with Chelsea in mind, and using some of the more experience players in a tough Euro away.

Is what I expect would happen with this being the first Euro away and the weekend game being a six pointer against a title rival.

We have enough depth in the squad to give the mainstays of the season so far a breather and all of those players listed do need games as do the likes of Fabio.

I'd be looking for Rooney, Nani and Young all to get rested as well.

Pogba can't play since he's not in the squad, and I don't think he'll qualify for the "B squad" until October because his transfer wasn't completed/approved until then despite his moving in June 2009.

2. A player may be registered on List B if he is born on/after January 1986 and had been eligible to play for the club concerned for an interrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday by the time he is registered with UEFA.

I can see Ravel and Pogba both getting a home game (as subs) when we play that Romanian team in the champs league (galacti something).

Didn't Pogba travel to Marseille last year as part of the squad?

That's what I referred to above. I think Fergie took a few kids on the road last season, just to give them a flavour of a European away - even though they weren't in the squad.

Pogba definitely can't be included in this season's CL squad until October, as that will be when he's been training at United for two continuous years, which makes him eligible for the "B" list.

I know I'm not. Do you ever add anything to these threads?

Boy did you get out of the wrong side of the bed. I didn't recall Pogba being involved in the CL squad so I was trying too "add something", however I stand corrected.

As for the other thread you are no doubt referring to, I "added" that Nani had 2 assists after a few posters had mentioned him having bust one. You're just a grumpy fecker with a severe case of pmt that seems to take everything the wrong way.

Cheer up d.
