Paul Pogba

Zidane's his hero, though. :(

"My toughest opponent? Scholes of Manchester. He is the complete midfielder. Scholes is undoubtedly the greatest midfielder of his generation."

- Zidane.

So clearly Pogba should come to us because Zidane liked Scholes. The connections are there!

Would I be right in saying Moyes was even looking at bringing him back last year? I'm pretty sure Moyes confirmed it himself. I imagine the club really want him back if so.

He is clearly another fanboy of Scholes. If we get Scholes into the same room as Zidane and Pogba, we will get Pogba and Zidane to boot as well. Take that feckin Real Madrid.

If he goes to Madrid it's going to be for Bale type of money, something close to £100 million. United would probably be able to get him cheaper if he was interested in a move to Manchester.

61 million is the fee that seems to be doing the rounds. Pretty dodgy starting bid if true. Juventus would no doubt take advantage of it and push us harder.

Give me Bale over Pogba any day of the week!

Bale has peaked though, i dont see him getting any better at all as his technical ability is just not what it should be for a top player. Pogba is only going to keep getting better and better as he has the football brain and the skills to be the very best.

Midfielders like Pogba are far more of a rarity than midfilders like Bale. If we don't at least try and sign him I'd be devastated. City will attempt to snap him up as their Toure replacement without a doubt.

We don't know if Bale has peaked and he is a monster of a player a true match winner. Pogba would be great at the right price but I'd rather City got him instead of Bale.

Well thats just my opinion on Bale i could be wrong but if i had to pick i would definitely opt for Pogba over Bale.

Can hardly fault you buddy but I think Pogba hype is a little OTT (he obviously is good though) but for me Bale is already world class and the difference he'd make to us would be huge. He'd be the best winger type forward in the league instantly above Hazard and Sanchez imo and add that sparkle and pace we are missing.

I'd pick Pogba over Bale any day. Still feels like he belongs here, if he returned I could see him going down as one of our best ever midfielders. He was always the natural heir to Scholes' throne.

A few of us were saying this whilst a lot of others on here were hung up on us signing the likes of Sneijder and didn't give a second thought about Pogba, the year before his 'breakthrough'. It was always pretty clear he was going to be a top player.

Pogba over Bale all day long

the right age profile for us and the spine of our team strengthened for the next 8-10 years

we could even make money on him in 4/5 years if we liked

If we buy him for 80m euros, he would have to become an absolutely fantastic footballer for us to be able to sell him at a profit.

By why would the club be swayed to sell for no profit if he's one of the best midfielders in the world? It makes no sense. Very academic of course, but if we were to sign him for something like 60m quid and he becomes one of our very best players (which of course he'd do the minute he'd arrive) the club would be embarrassed twice in relation to Pogba if it didn't secure absolute top money.

If he seriously fulfills his potential, bearing in mind his age and the crazy prices these days - Bale for instance - he'd be nearer the 100m resale mark..

Neither of them exactly tops my wish list (not keen on us becoming Madrid MkII, a good CB is the only big signing I want atm), but I'd far prefer Pogba to Bale. Young enough to spend most of his career here. In a position that it makes more sense for us to strengthen. And has a bit of history with us already, so he wouldn't just be 'some galactico'.

I'd like to see Van Gaal buy them both then play Pogba up front with Bale in behind

Looks like the Caf has found it's 2015 Transfer Meme.

This one isn't going to get old at all.

Did he spend long enough with us to be considered HG?

Remember watching him at the Paul Scholes testimonial thinking he was the future. Pretty sure he came on for Scholes too.
