Unconditional power and funding? United give more power to the manager that almost any club out there. It was the system we followed under Sir Alex, and it obviously served us well, and has carried forward into the following managers' reigns. In fact, I'd argue that we push too far in the "manager is king" direction, and need to have structure that gives the club a leg to stand on from it's own POV too. Right now, it's basically "manager, do whatever you have to, and Woody will sort the other stuff out", whereas we could do with a few more people behind the scenes contributing to big decisions. So you're totally wrong on that one. If Pep comes to United, he'll have more power than he needs and more than he'd find in most other places.
