Tbf he had an excellent couple of years in the middle. Last two have been a waste.

I've said it for years. He's got 5 or so in him a season. I've never seen a keeper have such horrible handling and be revered as something special.

good idea. at the end of the season we can look back at which keeper who are making the most mistakes.
He was never good, a few years back he had the likes of Alonso, Maschenaro in midfield which meant he wasn't exposed as frequently as he is now.
Needs a move away from Liverpool. He is still a very good keeper but seems to have entered the same stage where van der Sar was at Fulham.

Should have mentioned by good I meant world class, which was what most liverpool fans claim he was.

He had 2 World Class seasons in my opinion. But yes, I'd agree, to be considered a world class player it's gotta be on a more consistant basis.
Never a good keeper. His only good thing is probably able to kick the ball really far.
I've always said he is rubbish.
Reckon the way Liverpool was set up made him looked much better than he really was. With Alonso and Maschenaro shielding the defence and Carragher and Hyypia booting the ball out of the field as soon as they saw it, Reina was rarely needed to make any saves.
But he was making saves that mattered and after spending a lot of the game doing very little. The mark of a top 'keeper.... so they say.
He was pretty bad last season and seems to have started this season in the same way. But then, so are the rest of his team mates.
He's a brilliant 'keeper IMO.

His distribution is great.
nothing related to his liverpool career, but he is a world and european cup winner as well...he is very lucky to has those medals without contributing much to his team when you consider a great keeper such as van der sar and didn't win anything at international level.
You can say that about most players, smart managers do that set their teams up to get the best out of their players look how Kaka, Sheva, Crespo and Veron all struggled when taken out their team set up. As much as I disliked Rafa he was a very good manager imho.

He's never actually been a top keeper. Good, no doubt but always had mistakes in him. This season he's started woefully.
Yep. Similar mistake to De Gea's. Came out and punched the air leaving an open goal for Toure to put the ball into.
De Gea>Reina.
And he was also prone to screwing up when there was little danger which led to him conceding. He's practically like Barthez.
Rafa is a great tactician but a bad manager, always manages to alienate his players from him after some time.
Averaging a mistake a game isn't he?
