Peterborough United vs Manchester United testimonial game 19/7

He didn't impose himself much in these two games. Thought he might play his game when he was put on the left today but aside from some good passes and touches, he didn't do much as compared to those korean games i watched and just a few PSV games. I put it down to him not familiar with the setup and the way the team play yet.

Myself i will give him 3 months or more (provided he play regularly) to settle in and play his own game.

Tight game as Peterborough packs the defence and hit on the break. Lacking the creative spark to break thm down and the movement lacks instinct and fluidity. Not suprising as it's pre-season and it's a mixed team of the first team + reserves. Best moves were down the left flank with Richardson. Great pace and great crosses & cutbacks. Kleberson looked the most likely to unlock them - a couple of great passes to open them up. Park still not quite in-tune with the teamplay but I think he's ok so far. Saha - nice first touches as usual. Tight defence mean not much room for him. Rio, was booed but world class as usual except for an early gaffe. Pique not having a good game. Jones looked very good but he's not been challenged too much. Have plenty of room as Peterborough are quick to track back to take up defensive position but I think he'd be a real gem. Fletcher - quiet game, expected him to be more influential. Bardsley - Did ok.

Jones doing relatively well and better late in the first half match. Much better than Fletcher who kept giving away balls today and don't look to be very forcused on the game. Bardsley, as good as usual, didnt put a foot wrong and he didn't have very much to do either.

I know it's only pre-season but Im getting a horrible sense of deja vu with the sentence "Lacking the creative spark to break them down and the movement lacks instinct and fluidity", there Red17...

:nervous:  :(

Yeah, but I guess the likes of Scholes, Giggs, Rooney and Ronaldo might help a bit...

Jones?

How many is there? Richard Jones played yesterday against France in N.Ireland

Is there another called Daivd or summat?

Rossi is looking very good. He looks like he's played with the first 11 for a long time. The second half team's quality is obvious. Scholes, Smith, Giggs, RVN, Ronaldo & Rossi!

Yeah was thinking the same thing.

Started to feel a bit down actually whilst thinking about last season.

If I remember rightly theres Richtie Jones and David Jones. David plays centre midfield and Ritchie is a versatile little fecker I think, can play right back, centre half aswell as centre midfield. Ferguson rates them both very highly. Hes mentioned Ritchie Jones by name a few times, and given he's only 17, that says something.

One thing Im a bit confused about is, where is Ngalula? He had as good a season with the reserves as anyone and Ferguson said he was close to the first team, infact, he got on the bench v. Palace if I remember correctly

Second half team.

Howard
Oshea
Eckersley
PNeville
Giggs
Ronaldo
Scholes
Rossi
Smith
RVN
Mcshane

Scholes, Rossi and Eckersley really impressive.

This is the second game Smith is playing in the holding role. I must say he's doing a good job.

Peterborough is having a torrid second half so far...

Cheers for clearing that up

Yea, the other is David Jones. He's the Jones that most people refer to when they just say Jones around here. Also, the one that's playing today

Trophy lugs.

I wager that Rossi will make his first team breakthrough this season...

In this game (1st and 2nd half), our fullbacks are playing more like wingback.
