PL fixtures & FA Cup Semifinals Apr 22-27

Seen the FA Cup line ups. No Hazard or Costa for Chelsea and no Rose or Walker for Spurs. Surprised at that.

He has though. He's left himself an out...oh it's the league we really want.
It's an FA cup semi final involving the two best sides in England with the narrative all week being the huge pressure Chelsea would be under if they lost.
Conte has attempted to sidestep all of that.

Which of these scenarios do you think is more likely:

1, Conte is resting his two best players because he is concentrating on the league and he would prefer to win on Tuesday than today.

2, Conte is so concerned about the fallout from losing against Spurs that he has dropped his two best players in order to have something to blame the defeat on.

If you really think the answer is 2, then I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul.

I'm just tuned into final score and Dean Saunders is making Garth Crooks look like Fergie.

That's so strange from Conte. Why would you drop your 2 most important players in a knock-out semi-final tournament against the most in-form team in the league? Makes no sense. You have still a pretty healthy 4 point lead with a much easier run-in than Spurs.

I think both of the Spurs players have been injured recently. Rose definitely has and Trippier seems to be playing a lot lately so I presume Walker has too as he's been great for the most part when he has played.

Has he rested players in the FA cup at any stage this season?
Fatigue cannot be an excuse for this, not with your calender. Your last game was 6 days ago and after midweek it's one game per week until the end of the season

What is he resting them for/from? Chelsea haven't played European football this season and their last game was a week ago. After today, they play Southampton on Tuesday and then Everton on Sunday. So can they not do ONE WEEK of the midweek-weekend schedule? After not playing in Europe all season? And it's practically the end of the season, aka the most important time... And it's an FA Cup semi final...

4 defeats in 6 since karanka was sacked I think.......Middlesbrough are definitely down (considering their fixtures left)

It's not about our last game being 6 days ago, it's about our next game being on tuesday. We've not rotated at all this season because we've had so few games. We've now got a couple of games withing 4 days and are doing a bit of rotating, just like every team does.

If you really think they've been dropped because Conte wants an excuse for the loss than I think we should end our back and forth here.

I'm sure they could play all the games, I guess Conte thinks he'ss get more out of the team with a bit of a change.

Have you seen how Costa has been playing in recent weeks?Utter shit. Hazard has also been off the boil.

Nobody is complaining about fixtures by the way. Are we not allowed to rotate a little?

Wtf are you talking about? He's been enjoying arguably his best form all season in the last 2 months, excluding the last game.

Would have been better served giving him the season before letting him go. He set them up to play one way, no surprise they've descended even more drastically.

They are nothing away from home unless it's a match against a big club away. Game raising wanks.
We haven't beaten a top 4 team away from home in about 8 years

We are shite away from though. It's a problem that has needed sorting for years.

Burton have beaten Leeds.

I'm sat about a mile from the Pirelli Stadium at the minute, heard the cheers from here. Burton are now 6 points clear of the dropzone with 2 games left. They are probably staying up.

A maximum gate of 6500 or so, written off before the season started, it should be the football story of the season really if they can finish it off.

I have the palace and Man Utd games still fresh in my mind to be honest.
He was the best player in blue by far vs Crystal Palace, created shit ton of chances and assisted Cesc's goal. Maybe your mind isn't as fresh as you think it is.

Conte doing this to focus on the league on Tues and rightly so, they are tiring and short in depth. Also not giving Spurs any psychological advantage, them having momentum already.
