Yes because those players know they stand to make even more money with that league. Only players you'll get speaking out on this are retired players, players in the German or French (see: Ander Herrera) league or players (Ozil) that know they won't be wanted by the clubs in the super league.
I prefer the club captains coming out with a united front against this. They KNOW that the fans do not want anyting to do with this.

You'd assume all the players of the 12 or 15 clubs involved are instructed by the clubs to keep their mouth shut at this point in time, but I don't know if this is the case.

I don't see why the players would be particularly opposed to this Super League though? From their POV, they're playing for a big club, getting a lot of money. And now their club tells them they have a new plan that would be good for the club and therefore also for them.
Since nothing is 100% official at this point in time either, why would they already speak out?

Fantastic that current and ex players are coming out now but it hasn't been a working man's game since what the 80s? Average players earning 10000% of what a normal person earns in a month but in a week. I think and hope this will end up overhauling the entire structure of football wage cuts/wage caps, agent fees cut/caps, transfer limits/transfer caps and finally sorting out the corrupt within Uefa/FA/FIFA. I am all against this Super League from happening when the only ones who will profit from it are owners, I hope this is the beginning of the end of the Glazer Ownership of our club. ALL Fans and Ex Players must know get behind one another to oust these leeches from our beloved club.

That's a ridiculous stance that people aren't criticizing yet because of their focus on the clubs. What exactly did the players do to be punished. Essentially UEFA are so power hungry that their willing to destroy their international representation to prove a point by scapegoating the players and people are too outraged to see how morally inept that is. Thats like a government saying they'll increase taxes on people working for certain companies if they don't bend to their will.

There are massive, widespread issues in the game, no doubt. It's never been taken over in a coup by a few billionaires who are completely disconnected from the game though.
I think it makes people feel clever. The idea that a football player earning a lot of money is just as bad as a closed off european super league that only exists to allow American businessmen a slice of the pie at the cost of competition is ludicrous.
Inflated player wages are significantly less of a problem that egotistical billionaire owners coming in and thinking it is acceptable to destroy football as it currently exists - and in doing so pull the ladder out behind them so no other clubs can realistically compete with them. That is a major issue. Players being paid handsomely for kicking a ball is ridiculous - but let's not mince words here - it is NOWHERE NEAR as big of a problem as this galling display of hyper-capitalism.
It is every football people’s dream to play in World Cup and UCL, this is the traditional and the culture of football world. This project is trying to kill one of the dream. Honestly, I can see lot of players & managers will be against this idea and eventually it won’t happen.

The Norwegian governing body of football have come out and said that they support the banning of our own players from international competition. They are completely behind UEFA. Stands to reason many more are.
FIFPRO have challenged the banning from international duty, so that will be a legal battle all on its own.
This is only going to get uglier.
But on that note: The players haven't done anything to be punished. The clubs have.
