The guy is on German TV screens something like five times every commercial break, whoring his goofy smile out to anyone from insurances companies, car manufacturers, banks and credit card companies, candy, beer, and god knows what.
I tend to forget this, because I haven't been watching TV in a decade, and so I get the wrong impression of someone who doesn't do anything for the extra Euro.

As @acnumber9 pointed out, Ole also has a hell of a lot less job security than Pep/Klopp. Both in terms of his current job and future opportunities if he gets sacked over this.

Rashford is our best player/person on and off the pitch. All the work he has done for the people and children is wonderful, united fans are proud of him from all over the world.

The thing is, I'm not even sure his bosses should be annoyed. City is a sportswashing project, money doesn't matter to them. The public seem to completely reject the Super League. Am I wrong to think that it would be the easiest way to gain some points and credibility with football fans all over, if they back out of it? Down the line playing in the Super League might give them great publicity among the best teams, but here and now the project would likely fall apart the moment one of the founders backs out, especially if it's the upcoming English champions.
They could even spin it as them being in it for the love of the sport!

To be fair, City and Chelsea look like they have hedged their bets on this one. If any of the 12 are going to pull out it will be them. I imagine that there is probably some support for such comments within their boards, even if it is not coming from the owners.

It’s unrealistic to expect players and managers to come out and attack their employers. I don’t think any of them like this, but they have to be realistic. Coming out and laying in to the club management would be idiotic and reckless. It doesn’t work like that in the real world, and being needlessly emotional over it isn’t going to achieve a damn thing. I would expect the players of all clubs will be uniting in solidarity and will issue a statement of some sort. This is dead once all the players unite in defiance but it needs to be measured.

I dunno man, I hope so but I wonder what sort of repercussions there may be for them (anything legal?) and can imagine many may be sitting with their agents and whoever to see what sort of action or statement they can arrange. This must have blindsided all the players big time.

There was a meeting between the players and executives yesterday, yes.
They don't need bums on seats. There will be plenty abroad who will pay for this, Real have fans all over the globe and not sure their fans are as offended as we are. They will just make plenty out of TV revenue.
Perhaps I’m a cynic, but it’s hard to put much stock in player reaction for me. It’s clearly not an objective conversation, and everyone will have a camera and mic thrust in their faces and it’s pretty clear what answer they are expected to give.
This is quickly becoming a competition to deliver the most ‘powerful’ statement. I mean, the Super League proposal kills competition. A message of ‘football is nothing without fans’ - like, what does that even mean in relation to this proposal? Other than fans (some) not wanting a Super League, like they don’t want many things in football. The banner on display at OT was a clear message due to the fact fans are not allowed into stadiums. Not sure it relates, but can be filed under ‘hero delivers powerful message’ all the same.

Giving zero fecks there , this should be the reaction from any person, athlete or other, that has been involved in any competition, ever. Not surprising the trust fund brats across the boardrooms don't get it.
