It won’t be a popular opinion, but we massively miss Pogba’s creativity. He may be a lazy bastard, but he’s more creative than any other player we have.

I don’t think our main issue yesterday is the lack of creativity. It’s the easy turnover losing the possession. We gave away the possession so cheaply in such high number. There is no way to build up the sustainable pressure on the opponents, given our players are mostly technical type.
However, I agree Pogba could help us yesterday as one of the No10s. He is the only one can hold the ball top of the pitch.
But his head is not here. We should find the other solution. There is no need to waste six months for the sake of our long term plan.

Juve was ages ago though, and hes still guilty of doing the same stupid stuff he does for us defensively as he does for France at times. (France are a much more balanced team though than we were last few years and Ive always thought he puts in more effort for France anyway).

They were linked yesterday. Bruno and Rashford gave away a lot of possessions trying to unlock the defence, especially the former. Result was nearly every creative pass was funky, mistimed, overhit, underhit or misplaced. If we are going to be having a lot of possession I'd try to see how he helps before deciding to flog him off. I'm not sure the guys who played yesterday can shoulder the creative burden alone without breaking countless possessions. Pogba is lazy, yes, maybe even unlikable, but I'd like to avoid going back to the days of having no creativity in the middle. Secure his replacement first. VDB has shown it's not that easy buying CMs for the first team. I'm sure Pogba would be gone already if we could. Right now we still have the guys Jose brought playing our midfield, it's not exactly in the best state.

Dave already is paid way above market value, so parity with him would be compounding the original mistake. We also seemed (according to reports prior to Ole's sacking) to want (for no specific reason) to double Maguire's wages. Bruno would be understandable as he arrived on a modest contract and far surpassed expectations. But in terms of a meaningful cultural reset, players need to be paid what they merit and moved on if they are not fully committed.

Facts, It's really simple math that skipping the transfer fee and paying only wages is like a 50% off deal on someone like Pogba... any top club needing strengthening in his position would take it

Let's say his fee would've cost 100 million and he signed a 4 year contract.

100 million / 4 years = 25 million a year.
25 million / 52 = 480k a week over 4 years.
A 100million transfer fee = 480k/week.
480k / week transfer fee + 400k weekly wages = 880/week the club pays , more than double

Agree that we need to move on from him. Unfortunately, I don't think we can blame it all on him and his attitude though: he wants to be the best in the world and thiught he was coming back to a team that would make that possible. He's had years of continued disappointment and given us his prime playing years. Psychologically, that does do damage and its likely that his lack of effort in midfield and tracking back is a coping mechanism - i remember his first year he was immense in midfield and still got criticism from fans and punditry so now he doesnt work hard and focuses on keeping himself happy.

What Raiola does in public about his players is absolutely normal. He doesn't take a piss on Man United, he doesn't break the "man united way", he just gives a political opinion about a particular topic with the purpose of either influencing the club's decisions or getting his player to earn more money. If you can not see that is normal, I'm sorry man, you and the others have serious issues. If you work at Oracle you can't talk about your job in public?

18/19 was Pogbas best season in a Manchester United shirt, by far. Does that season rise to the contract level he's asking for? Now take that contribution and slash it by 1/3.

No matter how kind and generous you apply any of Pauls contribution on the pitch and training ground, he's not worth the £400k + he's asking.

Its worth noting that the club declined to extend his contract in 2019 when Pogba wanted to renew his contract, rather the club opted to use the 1 year contract extension.
