Had it happened without his statement I'd have said A.

As it is now I'm somewhere between B and C.

I'd be happy if he'd signed it without all the drama queen stuff.

As it is, I'm not sure, so probably meh.

b)

althought most would probably chose c....

Rahul

So you will boo him if he plays? Very good idea, will help United!

A for me

We've secured the services of one of the best strikers in the World. Definitely B.

meh+boo
certainly good enough to be a starter at most teams
not irreplaceable
was special for reasons other than just football, but for me he has lost that now

so as a player , good enough
if he had gone , we wouldve replaced him with another player of similar ability (maybe not the same transfer window, but soonish , we have always had top strikers at united)
dont like him much

Entirely C.

D) Depends on the details and how much we'll likely squeeze out of the club he goes to in a season or two. Rooney's reputation has been severely damaged regardless.

a) I couldn't be happier. It's massive news for the club. He is our only world class player and replacing a forward player like that that scores goals in big games in very difficult.

Rooneys indecisiveness to sign can only be great for Man Utd as it will force the Glazers to spend a few quid on top players now.

Liverpool fans forgave Gerrard very quickly when he almost left and he has been sensational for them since. It will be the saem here with Rooney. He will be everyones hero again very soon including all those slating on here now. Give the boy a break FFS. Booing him is so retarded and will not help.

A little from column B and a little from column C, definitely not A.

But then I'm only a fan, and not in charge of United.

EDIT: went with C in the poll.

eboue.

none of those.

im happy he's signed a new contract because now we can get good money for him in the summer.

I should say C really, because he's shown so little regard for his teammates, manager, employers and fans and treated us all so badly.

However, when I remember how great a player he can be, and how well he can play, I have to lean more towards B, because although he's been a prick, he's still going to be of some benefit to the team.

I can't think about us selling him in the summer of whatever, I'm just taking this at face value and thinking that this means he's properly staying on.

C) for me with regards to Wayne himself. As for the reputation of the club, its taken a slight hit for now from some quarters.. but to be fair we can now sell him at full value, so we are in a pretty strong position.

He will benefit the team, no doubt, and his goals may or may not win us something, he could end up helping us to more trophies this season, but that doesn't excuse whats happened.

I'm delighted that we've secured the signature of our best player for another 5 years.

A) for me. As much as I dislike him for the way he's behaved and held the club to ransom, it's good for the club to keep a player like Rooney who despite his bad form is a world class player. So for the club it's great news.

C for me.

That's not to say the damage is done irreversibly, but he has alot of work to do to make this up to us fans and I'm not talking 20 goals this season and he's a red legend.

He's got to work his ass off from now on.

C for me. Getting rewarded with an increased salary for his dreadful conduct is not the message to be sending out. Football is heading for the rockiest of landing's after the massive fall.

Undeserved and I'm dissapointed that his actions have compelled us to cave in to his demands.

A

He's a cnut of the highest order, and thick as a fecking cow, but he's our best player and I prefer him playing at United than for any other club.

I also love the fact that many people on here have made themselves look like fecking morons and will take 2 weeks before they'll re-adopt the thich c(h)untish sc(h)ouser as their god. Especially those who for 72h thought he actually wasn't that good.

In addition, I don't think he was seen having dinner with that Cooke prick like Rio with Kenyon.

D- moar public contract negotiations plz.

A) for me.

He's a special talent and we're a much better team with him in the squad.

He's behaved abominably (which has to be mainly down to getting really terrible advice) but hey ho, I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that all modern footballers are prats.

Apart from paddy evra.

Booooooooo

Hope this is a short term arrangement so that United get a decent fee in the summer. I'd rather Hernandez starts than Rooney from now on.
