This is why SAF is a genius. I can't see Ronney being here longer than 2 seasons. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me in the least bit if he was gone this coming summer. Now SAF can get full value for him. Meanwhile, Rooney has a guaranteeed 5 year contract. That's the trade off. Otherwise what would have Rooney done for the next 3 + months? I'm hoping he'll stay for 5 seasons but I can't see it.
