Portsmouth v Manchester United

Portsmouth 1-4 United

Shite first half, vastly improved second half.

I don't think Rooney will have a more ineffective game than this and score three goals, if you know what I mean. He hardly had a kick all game.

At least we got the three points

Yep, totally agree, tehre were far better performers than Rooney on the pitch today. But you can't complain if he gets a hattrick. I'd take that every game.

For me PIG has done today what we knew he could do. He's a tremendous shot stopper and does that very well. His distribution is poor and his judgement with long balls over the top is questionable. But when it comes to pure shot stopping ability he's right up there.

Great game from him today.

excellently put, couldnt have said it bettr myself

Hard to pick a man of the match...(if it wasn't for the hattrick)

PIG, Valencia, Rooney and Giggs have all been brilliant.

Rooney obviously deserves it because of the hattrick though

Dunno about that. Two penalties and basically a tap-in isn't worthy of MOM. It's either Valencia, PIG or Giggs for me. I'd go Valencia as he was great the entire match, with PIG second. Granted Giggs was sublime in the second half.

Never stops SAF from taking Nani off at half even when he's played better than others.

Ones a experienced player who has shown this season hes better in the second half of games, the other is a young inconsistant player who might do something good

Giggs MOTM for me, won a penalty, set up a goal and scored a blinding freekick. Poor first half, but then they all did I think.

Valencia was great, and looks like he's improving every week.

No chance, he took them well enough but he was peripheral for far too much of the game. PIG and Valencia were great throughout and Giggs had a fantastic 2nd half.

But SAF sometimes goes too long with the old guard and appears to be blind at times. Nani is very inconsistent but so are Giggs and Scholes in their latter years.

hope the football gods are listening.

This.

The bias here is shocking sometimes considering the fact that both are utd players.

No bias from me, I don't think either are good enough to be our number1. But based on today, PIG is ahead of Foster because he's taken his chance well today.

We'll be bringing in a new keeper before either of those 2 become first choice imo.

Excellent second half performance. My only issue is with the formation. Rooney looks so isolated up top on his own.

PIG was world class today.

Giggs was exceptional in the second half'

Valencia starting to look a good signing and (at last) a Manchester United player.

Does anyone no why Carrick was taken off? Was it an injury or just tactical?

stevie wonder can tell neither will be number one, however kuszsack is the better of the two, as has been clear for a long time

True but if i had to chose between a tiring Giggs in the second half and getting Nani on when we need a result i would still stick with Giggs, unless he was on his knees grasping for air!

I suspect Carrick was taken off because he wasn't playing all that well, plus one of those substitutions to disrupt the flow of the game and waste a little bit of time

According to 5live he was poor and should have been taken off earlier

Personally thought Giggs was magic in the second half. Assisted 2 and scored 1. Which to me, is as good as a hattrick in itself.
