Fellaini was nearly flawless tonight. Herrera was excellent again. Pogba was mostly AWOL in the second half, but dominated and showed his class in the first 45. Valencia was unbeatable, Darmian looked a proper fullback, and even Blind and Smalling were largely untroubled. Smalling and Fellaini won some towering headers today, really stamped their physicality on the game early and often. Good win.

It was a typical United performance this season yet more decisive. A Mourinho tactical masterclass again. Is this the United side and style I want to watch, absolutely not, however he has won two trophies and got us back in the champions league and now has a second window to shape his own side. This summer and following season is huge for Mourinho and the club.
Have to say, generally I was dissapointed with Ajax, but how good were BOTH the centre backs 17 and 20 years old and though it was hardly Rashfords best game they both coped with him very well. Can see why Sanches has been getting linked with Chelsea. For people touting Michael Keane as a signing, this game just shows how many centre backs there are both younger and far more talented and not neccarsairly as expensive either.
