Aston Villa 0:3 Manchester United

Post-match discussion

Villa had a go first 25 minutes, they are battling for their lives and it was too be expected. We coped well limiting the to a couple of half chances. Once we got the penalty we took full control and played some scintillating attacking football (again) we are a joy to watch which is certainly something we couldnt say pre Bruno -
Greenwood i something else. Still learning and already bloody awesome.
Matic was great in his role, very strong and never put a foot wrong.
Pogba looks a different man, no show boating, plays it simple when he should but has the killer pass when needed... Bruno brilliant.
Rashford got better as the game went on but still looks rusty.

Great run we are on.

It's so nice when some of your players can have bad games and still tot up stats and also have other players that step up so it doesn't matter.

17 unbeaten.
+3 GD 4 games in a row.
Another clean sheet.
Thought Pogba was the best of the 3 today.

Not many games to go, other teams will drop points and we are winning games that have always been stumbling blocks since Fergie.

We'll get 3rd.
City will get banned.
We'll win Europa & FA Cup.

Haha.

I don't trust our bench. Fred came last week and took the DM role fluidly, but Mctominay was so poor in providing himself as an option to our defence or coming deep to provide a three man defence. Even when Fred came on and moved into that role, he didnt provide a link in midfield for us in any approximation to Pogba.

Think it looked like he was stretching some muscle, didn't look related to knee at all (and nothing from the clip suggested any knee issue). Probably just felt tight.
I dunno. Looked a bit like he’d slid on his knees after the tackle, I’ve done that before and felt a twinge in my knee. I’m sure he’ll be fine.

Should've been a penalty right at the end there, looked a clear clip on Pogba. That and the Rashford barge looked like clearer penalties than the one that was given.

Reasonable performance bar the 1st 20 minutes (similar to Bournemouth). Should've grabbed a few more, they were there to be punished. That defence is horrendous.

I’ve said it before and I don’t mind repeating myself ... we’ve finally got a team. Brilliant to see 11 players all giving a shit and playing for each other.

Could you imagine this team with Sancho and another top class CM/DM. It's looking good, get 4 wins we are definitely top four, something I have never thought we would get.

Don’t want to do an Arsenal and see fourth spot as anything to celebrate, but feels like it would be a huge achievement to reward us for decent play / end to the season.

Slow start, large parts were scrappy but still won 3-0. Beautiful

On a side note and probably an unpopular opinion but please sell Fred while we can still get close to what we paid for him.

He's the type of player who needs a string of games to get his confidence up, not one who will give you his best from the bench. With Pogba and Matic looking like the main two now, he won't won't get that run of games.

He's come on tonight, made a few misplaced passes, got a yellow card and slowed our game right down with endless side passes.

Crap first half and despite that we were 2:0. Sign of a good team. :D
In second we turned up a gear and were flying. Never looked troubled.
Dare to say we look pretty good. :)

Excellent again after a slowish start. Pogba motm for me, some quality passing throughout. Greenwood is something special.

It's pretty normal that the people on our bench aren't as good as those that are in the starting XI.. Besides we were actually better in the first half then the second, so what more can you want?

Just like we used to do under fergie... strong finish to the season

You know you're good when you have a shit day but still won 3-0. The best part is we missed 2-3 sitters.

Started sloppily. Our only danger is ourselves, fiddling about with the ball unnecessarily. Villa offered almost nothing.

It was too easy and we didn't play that fantastically. Can only dream if everything clicks at once.

Pogba, Greenwood and Martial top performers, Bruno not quite at his best but still making things happen. Pogba just MoM.

Total control.

Got the correct score yet again!

Having escaped from biased British commentators many years ago I must say that the co-commentator on RMC in today's match, Pierre Ducrocq, must have been the most ignorant, moronic, ill-informed commentary I have ever witnessed .

Or maybe by the time they came on, we were in 2nd gear trying to conserve energy and see out the game. It's not like Villa did much as well.

Good game. Not great. But that is more about our expectations these days. A few months ago I would have said this was a fantastic game.

Started poor and couldn't get a call. Then we finally get a call and it's a penalty. Weak call but I will take it. From there on it was only going one way.

And Greenwood. Man oh man. That's his weaker foot???

He did the post match interview, if he was injured for anything he'd be inside getting it checked out right away so it's all good.

Good win. Greenwood, Pogba, Fernandes, Martial were TOP. Rashford unlucky. Shaw can not cross the fecking ball. James was trash. Grealish not needed. It's good to see that we can win and play good football consistetntly. I think it's first time from SAF.

Solksjaer has transformed this club and the whole atmosphere around this team. We’re playing with style and confidence and it’s incredible to watch. I think with just 2 transfers for any of CDM, centre back, left back and right mid* (probably first 2 as a priority) we’d be title contenders.

* we can not make the mistake of overplaying Greenwood and putting too much on his shoulders. Yes, the best top players have done it consistently at the top at his age/slightly older but the fact is we have no one else who can step in and perform at right mid. James is too inexperienced and young too.

Crap first half, still 2-0 at halftime...
Sharper in second and we were in cruise control last 20. Shame we couldn`t score one or two more there, the race will go to the wire.
Rashford better today, such a gem when he is on form. Mason being Mason. Fred was crap today but he can be class when he gets into his groove. Might be time to start him next game to give us better energy and quicker passing through the middle.

This win confirmed my feelings that United has become an auto-win machine.

I just sit back and expect goals now, rather than be worried like I used to.

What a transformation. More please.

Some lovely passing and moving in the match, especially to get round he back if Villa. They are in free fall though they run as hard as they can but they’re toast.

We seemed a bit off at times especially first half but still won 3-0 and Martial hit the bar. The clear cut chances we had we should have scored 5 at least, but lets not get greedy. We are able to turn it on almost at will at times. Who would have believed Rashford would have been our worst performing striker over the last few games. We are definitely going strongly in the right direction at last.

Think he was unlucky with the yellow card, looks like he got the ball first, but yeh, struggled to get in the game, and a few passes went astray. Probably needs to start a game soon.

On shaky legs during the opening 20 minutes, after that we were cruising.

I know it was only Villa but love it how the whole team is gelling in. The pressing, quick passing, overlapping, unselfish play... it's great to see!

Great win! Good overall. Looking solid with our starting eleven. Looking forward to the end of the summer to get some depth i the squad. When we start subing off we see the ”old united”. Need another cam, if bruno gets injured i am scared what will happend. Lets get this good vibes going!

17 games unbeaten
Greenwood is a goalmachine.
Pogba was immense. Brunoshow continues.

Sancho who? :)

Almost disappointed with a 3-0 win against a PL side that parks the bus. It speaks volumes of how good we are.

Played at 3rd gear all game, but comfortably managed to win this.

Everyone in the team look really hungry to score goals. Massive 3 points and gets us closer to top 4.

Just what he needed tonight, easy game but played some lovely stuff. Could've been 6 or 7

Greenwood is just ridiculous, the power and accuracy he strikes the ball, with both feet, is incredible.
