Post-match discussion

We need to upgrade on Lingaard. He was too selfish and irritating today. I suppose Bailly getting himself sent off did not help in our substitutions. Bailly could have conceded a penalty today. He is a menace to everyone.

The attacking potential of this squad is immense, if we can make the right key signings to build around that we can go far.

The attack is spot on. Rashford was leading from the outset.

The midfield ran out of energy especially after Ander came off.

The defence is a dog’s dinner. Bailly is an idiot but they all ball watch in the box. We need a defender who can work with Matic and Ander.

Bailly should have gone for that high foot. Now 3 matches out. At least he could have played against Reading.

Hope we can train hard on defending crosses and set pieces over the new year and before the Spurs game.
Pogba putting good performances match after match is bringing me tears of joy. Next 6 games (except Spurs) are all winnable. We should win them all.
Spurs game is eminently winnable, I should think. Or do you suggest we send out the U18 first 11 and let them chalk it up to experience?

Sign me a CB and FW/RW, we need someone to partner Lindeloft and replace Lingard. Lingard is too inconsistent for this team, you hardly notice that he is playing.

We'll get exposed against better teams but for now I'm just enjoying the one touch passing, the quickness, the attacking fluidity and of all the players in general, they're covering for each other and moving around and that's hard for the opposition to track.

Players playing with confidence, not afraid to try things, not afraid to play the ball forward. If we have to win things 7-4 for now then so be it.

Hopefully Phelan, Carrick and McKenna can sort the defence out, otherwise Woodward needs to get the cheque book out in a few days time for Koulibaly or someone of that ilk.

Ok you guys the ones who think Bailly is a good defender... He is nowhere near being Utd level...
Liked what I see mostly great.

OGS is sprinkling some magic dust on this.

Except for that red card, the game was sublime and we could have scored more. We are thriving going forward, defensively we are still lacking but the intensity and output from our player were great. But even with that red card the players didn't look panicked, they were comfortable with the ball and never looked like conceding a goal rather we created more chances than Bournemouth, this is progress.

Great game, how enjoyable is it watching our team again? Wow! Pogba outstanding and the first 10 I’ve ever given and Rashford wasn’t too far off it. Defensively still a bit shit but Lindelof is getting better and better. Keep this shit up.

Screw the KDB love in when Pogba is like this there is no better midfielder in the world! Just need to see it week in week out.

Thought Herrera was class too.

Bailly was bloody stupid flying in like that, now gives someone else a chance to take his place.

A great performance from United. The first half United played some great energetic attacking football. A professional job in the second half. Pogba bossed the midfield throughout the game.

I think the team needs more structure. I felt United's defence was vulnerable. At times Matic nowhere to be found when B'mouth attacked.

Wonder if someone in the new setup can persuade Woody to invest ASAP in a centre back?

Exactly how games against smaller teams at home should go. Went at them from the off, and got our reward. A long way from perfect, but still, night and day from most of the rubbish we’ve seen this season.

That's exactly what it feels like, and I love it.

Honestly, it feels like this is what should have been when Fergie left. A young, attack minded manager (didn't necessarily have to be Ole) to take the reigns with the experienced staff and coaches still here to help guide him.

How did we feck things up so much?

Direct, fast, scintillating football by Ole and his team! Very well done indeed.

Rashford was tireless and skillful. Great assist and goal.
Pogbaaaaa!!!! MOTM performance. Leader and creator of almost every attack. Equally tracking back and providing defensive cover. Amazing work.
Conceding through set pieces is the biggest worry at this moment. Bailly is a calamity in waiting.
Matic was rock solid. You can never expect Matic and Pogba losing the ball. Both provide much needed stability in our half
Martial was good. Can do better
Well taken goal by Lukaku. But he needs to get involve more and be proactive, rather than keep waiting in center for somebody to create chance for him.

Keep this entertaining football coming.

In fairness that was a 50-50 ball and Bailly's momentum took him through the player. It's very small percentages out there. Glad the player wasn't hurt, and the card was fair enough.

A quality CB would make such a difference.

Also unsure about Shaw long term, BUT quality performance once again, and a joy to watch us being a attacking team again.
Yes a commanding CB required, but Shaw, come on. I thought he played very well, good turn of pace, was not caught out, pressed well, and put in some great tackles. Different player this season.

It's like Solskjaer has come in and cleansed the place after 5 years of poltergeists.

Matic even playing well.

Pogba's interview shows how level headed and mature he is, when it matters.

Noticed that too - he was very well spoken and level headed. We are totally seeing a different side of Pogba. A manager's job is to manage and get the best out of his players. Ole is obviously doing that.

Yes you could see that they were urged to gamble, to make flicks, play the early ball. Lingard nearly did himself a serious injury trying out a trick only a three legged player could have done.

Immense performance, specially when the games are coming thick and fast. Pogba was mercurial and adds so much to the game when he is firing. He is a confidence player and Ole seems to have unraveled the mystery on how to get the best out of him.

The one thing that struck me was our intent. Even after going a man down, we didn't take our foot off the gas and played consistently around the opponent's box. This continued right till the 94th minute. It clearly shows how Ole wants to play against smaller teams.

Pogba unbelievable. Another test passed by Ole. Fingers crossed things keep going well for him.

One game at a time.
