On the bright side, we are one game closer to end this Mourinho’s nonsense only 6 more months to go.

What on Earth is Matic doing on a football pitch? Even Sandra Redknapp would do better. Jose has got to go. Can't Woodward see this? Is he blind too? I do not care if he has to spend millions to get rid of Mourinhio but it is better to pay now and get someone who may get us into the top 4 still this season.
Yes the players can be slated too but they all play much better when they play for other teams. Lukaku and Matic should never play for this team again but they will be the first name on the list next game. It is time Woodward laid down the law to Mourinhio,

We should get the plane out now.

When a club of this size and magnitude is so far adrift in november then there has to be some serious decision making, sadly the only decisions the board will make is when top 4 is out of reach in order to save money, its a shockingly dire situation for this club, changes need to be made in both ownership and management!

How long more can this be allowed to go on , 4th place is starting to look out of reach now for this team. Top 8 is about our level right now.

It is painful the watch the soul just been ripped out of the club as we continue our descent into mediocrity.

Our team's official motto should be "Less than the sum of it's parts". Cuz, if you look at it, with Matic and Lukaku in the team, we are really playing with 9 players against 11. No wonder we get outplayed by pretty much any team.

I didn’t expect it. We’ve been improving to the point of looking like we could kick on and control some games. That was just a disaster for me.

Yeah I know but we've had many false dawns in the past 5 years only for us to revert to playing shit again.
This is why, even after the recent results, I had no hope of a top 4 finish simply because we're too inconsistent.
I'll start caring again when we bring in people who know modern football to the club and that starts with a DOF all the way down to the manager and coaching staff .
I'll still watch every match, but my expectations are so low I don't feel anything anymore.

do we think the players are just crap or just trying to get mou sacked orbadly managed/coached

I missed today’s game as I’m trying to achieve some work-life balance and quite rightly played a game of golf. I made two birdies, too.

Can anybody fill me in on the game? I would also like somebody to explain to me whether or not Toby Alderweireld or Harry Maguire would have won today’s game for us? As they are, after all, the reason we’ve started the season so horrifically.

Was the football as woeful as always? In line with the past (fast approaching) two years? That would be delightful to hear. Or are we happy that we had a few shots on target?

Absolutely hopeless substitutions. Lingard and Mata, while weren't having their best game, were among the better 2 of the front 4 and should have stayed on atleast for next 15-20 mins.
Ideally, should have brought off Lukaku and Matic for Fellaini and Rashford. and then Sanchez for Mata around the 70-75 min mark.
Also, I don't get why the feck does he insist on playing Mata on the right. The guy has played well for the last month- 1.5 months and those performances have come with him playing centrally.
And then there was the substitution of Pogba! The guy is absolute class and even on a bad day like today, he is more likely to create a chance than Matic. Additionally, with Young not being able to deliver crosses, who was he thinking would provide Fellaini and Lukaku with the service for headers!

Exactly this. And we are the ones who suffer most.

This shows how far we have actually fallen. Instead of replacing Mourinho, who is pretty much gone by now, to salvage the season, the board is trying to save some quid waiting for the top 4 to be mathematically out of reach before sacking Jose. What a pathetic mentality, eventually rubbing off the players.

You know how over the last two months we've been playing absolutely terrible in the first halves, then after halftime we've suddenly started playing well? Well we did the same thing again today, except we forgot to start playing well in the second half.

the players need to take a long hard look at themselves...….. but they wont, they will be off out now to some swanky restaurant and then back to a mansion in Cheshire with a wag in tow.
sad times...…...

This articulates my feelings exactly. I'm old enough to remember the season we were relegated decades ago and I haven't felt as low about United since then. Something has to change or 'mediocrtity' beckons.

Watching stuff like this feels like being kissed by a fecking dementor. Demoralizing, life-draining experience.

International football is more interesting & enjoyable than us. And i didn't even watch it since the world cup.

Don't get carried away. Nothing is worse than International Football, well except Women's football, though do like World Cup & European Championship finals.

Spurs are going away from us and if Arsenal win, then to me it is over.

What utter shite. Mourinho out, there is no way we can go forwards with him at the helm.

How about Liverpool? Is it OK to look at their stats or are they beyond comparison too?

Because at current rates Liverpool will finish 35 points above us with a goal difference 64 better than us.
I mean we could say that we are doing okay relative to leeds or villa. If we were top of the prem someone could still moan we aren't as good as barcelona or whoever the worlds top team is. Saying anyone should be sacked based on how another team is doing is bizarre in my book, yet it enters into every post on this forum

Do what I do mate. Go into every game expecting a loss. That way if it happens you’re not surprised, but if anything better than a loss happens you feel some modicum of joy. It’s taken a bit of conditioning but I’ve almost got it down now :smirk:
To be fair, i have been here before with United. Fergie's 1st 2 or 3 seasons were awful. I remember being at OT in a crowd of under 25,000 if memory serves ( no building work to reduce capacity ) it was that bad.
Completely different situation and there were signs of what he was trying to achieve, unlike now.

Your argument makes absolutely no sense. That it is the nature of competitive sport - you can't judge yourself in isolation from other teams. If other teams are playing better than us and we want to compete then we have to improve.

How do we judge performance without looking at other teams? Sit here in blissful ignorance because we are top of the Man United league?

No quick fix? Okay maybe. But at least the club should show us something as they want us to be better, how? For me first thing is to sack that cnut. No way he could have survive at any top club but us.

This is the bit that gets me the most, and what makes these results seem even worse. There’s absolutely no sign of what we’re truing to achieve as a team. Every team around us has a clear direction and you can see what they are being coached to try and be. It’s been over two years and I am yet to see any clear signs of what Mourinho’s United is meant to look like or do.

The atmosphere in the stadium is the most telling. I don't usually pay attention to it but it was very noticeable today. So quiet iit's like a library

One step forward, two back. Keeps happening over and over again. At any other top club, he'd be a goner tonight.
