actually, we had similar patches last season. Our 2nd place masked it. We went through a good phase during the middle of season, but performance wise, if you look back it was quite similar as we were abject in lot of home games.

Recycling my post from the match day thread:

We're far too 'daydreamy' for our own good. It looks like we think that we have more time than we actually do. We dawdle too much, and then suddenly it's the 80th minute and we're desperate for a goal. The bigger picture is that I also think that we believe we have more games than we actually do. A case of "don't worry about it now, because there's always the next game" and then the problem gets recycled. September turns into October, then it's February, then it's the final month of the season.

It seems exciting at first to get a late, late winner. But, you can't survive on that for the whole season, and then you can't build on that to make a title winning team or a team that's going for the Champions League. There needs to be a plan, and to execute that plan you have to make the players believe in the plan and then you have to motivate the players to carry out that plan. Mentally, we think we're contenders, but if we're being quite honest with ourselves, I think we're stuck on the "find a plan" and "motivate the players" stage.

Anyway, I think Ole has taken us as far as he can.
