TBH Steve is one our greatest ever Centrebacks and leaders, not many defenders of his calibre today. You can kind of see why he would think that, its not exactly going against the grain is it?

Well, do you think anyone, when asked to name our best player of, say, 88-94 would say Steve Bruce? If you do then fair enough, if not then yes, it's going against the grain.

Fair point, I found it hilarious but something a bit more normal would be appropriate. I've changed it back to the old picture.

No, but in the context of everything else he says regarding United it smacked of contrariness to me. Not sure whether you heard the segment of commentary that it came in, but the commentator (Jonathan Pearce I think) was listing United legends, Best, Edwards, Ronaldo etc, and then asked Parker who was the best player he ever played with. Parker then says Steve Bruce. I thought it sounded weird, if you don't then that's your prerogative! ;-)
