EL W Europa League Quarter-Final 2nd Leg

Manchester United 2:0 Granada

Post-match discussion

Thu, 15 April 2021

It is unfortunate that Europa League will be won by a traditional club, and Champions League by an oil club. At least, Solskjaer is trying to uphold the traditions of the game.

United v Arsenal final so. Can not for the life of me see anything different. The standard of this competition is so bad it makes Arsenal look like worldbeaters

No injuries/suspensions and a 2-0 win while giving everyone some sort of rest, can't complain too much. Maybe would've preferred if Van de Beek started and Bruno got more rest, but whatever, was a walking pace game.

Well it's just nice, isn't it? Being able to grind it out? When's the last time we had that habit?

Ole has achieved another semi. Hopefully this time he finally makes it to full mast.

We could have conceded a couple, never got in top gear.

If the players needed any extra motivation to not drop into the Europa again, it's that the standard is just so shite and you avoid these types of games. On and on and we're onto the next one.

Ironically games like this make me think we are a very good side. Brushing aside decent teams like that whilst never getting out of second gear in the tie. So much control even when they had a couple of chances.

Classic Fergie era performance.

Beat a top half Spanish team in 2nd gear.

Job very much done. First win against Spanish opposition in Old Trafford since 2013.

Played within themselves, a drama free Quarter Final tie for United, last season needed extra time to overcome Copenhagen in the Quarter finals let's not forget.

Up next Roma and return of Mkhitaryan, Smalling to Old Trafford.

Utter cakewalk against a typical Europa league outfit.

Shaw, Maguire, McTom suspended. Martial, Rashy injured. Pogba having to be withdrawn at half time, and still no worries at all.

That last foul on Amad through on goal deserves a statement from the UEFA referee body.

Given we've played over 50 games and don't rotate a tonne I think we gave a measured performance that got the job done without moving out of first gear.

Little energy expended, no injuries and through to the semi-final. All you can ask for from this game really.

The refs in the last two games were a joke
Disgraceful performance from the referee.
I have nothing but contempt for teams like Granada, and Spurs come to that, who fall over screaming at every tackle. Game is an spalling spectacle now, and that foul on Amad near the end!!!!!!!!!!!
We won, but football is a joke now.

Job well done, didn't need to get out of second gear. Another game with a shit ref, hope we get competent ones against Roma.

So easy. Easiest win of the season, rested loads of players, didn’t exert a lot of energy anyway. Go full pelt against Burnley, then take a good one week break. We even saw Donny and Amad! Only positives today.

Have they been screaming for ages and we just haven't noticed because of the crowd noise?

I am hoping RM win the CL and we play them in the Super Cup.

Job done in first leg. Went through without having to bust a gut and no injuries. God that ref was awful. Get lost Granada.

The referee had a clear agenda against us, I can't believe situations like this just go without being properly reviewed after the game.

I'm suprised we didn't concede with that back four. Tuanzebe gives me nightmares since Everton game

Anyways, job done and some rest for Maguire, Shaw and McTominay, Pogba as well as he only played one half.

Couple of things.
1. How the feck have Grenada got this far in the competition? By pure shit-housery it seems.
2. Juan Mata is alive and well.
3. I'd rather be kicked in the bollocks than watch Untied another EL game after this season. I hope they introduce some sort of market salary cap and ban us from the competition.

Professional performance. Didn't need to get out of second gear.

People have a go at the refs over here but we've had some atrocious referees in the Europa League this season.

Through to the semis. I'm very puzzled that Bruno did not come off sooner and that Amad didn't get more time. Ole must have his reasons I guess.

First off job done, through to the semis well done.
Shite game. Shite opposition & shite ref.
Also, for me, shite commentary from Gobshite Dave McIntyre on Virgin.
Anyone else have to watch it on that?
