its so satisfying beating these cnuts

Garnacho is amazing

top four looking really good now, imagine if we had a striker this season?

Brave of Bruno if he let Fred drove him home when Fred had the disasterclass game like mid week.
It could be worse. It could be AwB or Antony driving.

Good day.

Great adjustment by ETH, but man...if Leeds played like they do against us they'd be nowhere near the bottom of the table. The effort is incredible.

Think the last two matches just highlight what we already know: our first XI is genuinely good, we fall away fast after that relative to rivals.

Other things we know: Fred is erratic, Maguire is the slowest player on the ball in the league and Shaw is our best left back.

Right now, playing this many matches, we just have to hope for some good fortune imo. Solidify Top 4, win the League Cup and anything else is gravy.

I thought Malacia was good and Fred did so much better than Wednesday.

Any team would struggle for cohesion with 6/11 first team players missing.

Was aways going to be a tough game. They were bang up for it and they have some good young prospect like Gnonto and Summerville who will cause anyone problems. Far from perfect but very much a case of job done.

De Gea 6

Dalot 6
Maguire 5
Shaw 8
Malacia 6

Fred 7
Sabitzer 6
Fernandes 6

Sancho 6
Rashford 7
Weghorst 6

Martinez 6
Garnacho 8
Wan-Bissaka 6

Martinez? 6/10?

Absolutely delighted with this win. 4 points from the 2 games against this lot, who were always gonna raise their game, with our current fixture pile up and available personnel, isn’t too bad at all.

This....I would be over the moon with this result. Bring on the new owners and a nice fat spendy Summer....and clear dead weight.

6/11 first team players missing today and a new CM starting for the first time in the PL..

Anyone surprised we lacked cohesion needs to give their head a wobble. Any team would under the circumstances.

Still got the win, lads never gave up and EtH again showed his ability to adapt and learn as the game progressed.

Excellent three points.

Anyone seen this? Apparently Maguire didn't touch the ball for Weghorst's goal, so VAR got their pound of flesh even in our game . AND the ball comes off the Leeds player's arm.

Its actually amazing how result distorts reality when it comes to views of players performances, dunno which take is worse, Brickhead being better on the ball than Varane or including him and some others under having a good game.

In hindsight, the Sabitzer-deal has been pitvotal! He's not the player to really outshine the others, but he offers so much more quality on the ball than Fred, and whoever was supposed to take (Sabitzer) his place in today's game.

Well done!

Reminds me of Nicky Butt, not so much in the way he plays, but seems to have an ability to produce a 7 out of 10 performance on a regular basis, to be honest, that is what we require right now, some stability.
It will be interesting to see if Ten Hag plays him alongside Casemiro on Thursday, and also whether he changes the system to provide more bodies in midfield, not sure if he plays, or has ever played a diamond formation?

I see he's suspended, .

Sabitzer cannot play against Farca. He's banned for two yellows from the CL game. So it's back to the Brazil duo.

Seen it in the initial replay, I bet they won't come out apologising to us like they seemingly do for everyone else when they feck up for them.

They only apologise if they somehow give us a break. But all the pens that we never get awarded while ballerina Grealish just needs to be touched and they give Citeh two  .

Same here. I might sound a bit harsh but tbh basically for me none of our starting players did really well today. Maybe Shaw was ok. And Rashford because he scored the winning goal.

The game was a hard watch made all the better by the 2 goals which broke the resolve Leeds had, this ETH team has some grit, and a double header v Leeds before a massive European tie wasn't what they needed, (thanks FA). This group has something different it's made myself be more confident watching .

Martinez coming on putting Shaw back as left back , Garnacho on with a tireing defence was top manager , and dropped Wout deeper played like a 10 which worked for the amount if time he did it.

It's my favourite away win of the season not the prettiest but most satisfying one. Well done all round.

Good day.
Yes, sir!

The game itself was a bit slower compared to the other one in midweek. While I understand why we started with that lineup, it's obvious that we needed something different to grab all 3 points. Thankfully, the subs were spot on - AWB to contain Gnonto, Martinez to beef up the central Ds, and Garnacho to re-energize the attack. As soon as Rashford scored the opening goal, we basically made sure Leeds would run out of gas.

All about grit. Today is a testimony to ETH's solid work in drilling this team to deal with those situations.

The Sneeds need to go down. I can't stand their team or their fans, and I don't want to have to play them every year.

Worked hard to stay in a difficult game and grab the win. Great job.

Maguire's head touched it, from different angle.

Match gave me flashbacks from the previous reign. Not bringing anything together for 80min and winning it by 2 goals at the end.

Needless red cards don’t help either hopefully no more of them from here on in

Boiled my piss so bad seeing the love in between Harrison and the Leeds fans when he was subbed off. As though he had absolutely nothing to do with the woeful performances that saw their manager sacked and the team in the relegation zone.

Leeds going for the bald bloke who succeeded Ten Hag at Ajax. He was sacked recently with Ajax being terrible, can't see him keeping them up. They are a team of chaos merchants, with very little footballing ability.

Great subs from EtH but today confirmed the obvious: you can’t expect to win with Maguire, Fred and Weghorst as the spine of your team.

Exactly. I thought Weghorst was dreadful. He’s a total non factor in build up. Zero help with hold up play. Slow and plodding. No real skill or ability to breakdown a defender. Haven’t seen anything to suggest he’s clinical. Would rather play Rashford up top right nowand lean more heavily on our young guys at wing. I just don’t see Weghorst as a player who will help United at all this season.

Yet somehow, that is exactly what happened.

Yes, but his point that “you can’t expect to win” stands. It was a good result, and sometimes you just have to grind out wins and take the points in a game like today, but there is a clear drop off in performance with those guys on the pitch together. It is not tough to imagine that spine costing us points in future fixtures.

You’re talking about three different players, with very different qualities. Who can all play their part in winning games when better players are unavailable, or need a break. Which is what happened today. So don’t really think he has a point at all.

In the longer term they can all be upgraded but today didn’t prove that’s something which is incredibly urgent. The opposite, if anything. And that’s despite my own exquisite frustration at Maguire’s dilly dallying on the ball today.

Well, we clearly disagree. I think (as did the OP) that this game showed there is a massive and urgent need to upgrade at all three positions. Whether or not these players can individually plug a hole adequately isn’t the argument. The argument is whether the three of them together can be relied upon to get results. You apparently think the answer is yes. We disagree. I think what today proved was that: 1) We were fortunate and 2) Rashford is playing at an elite level in front of the goal currently. I certainly don’t think today showed that Maguire, Fred and Weghorst constitute a competitive spine of a team in the PL.
