Snatched from the jaws of a draw...

We were the better of the two terrible teams on show but neither deserved to win... terrible signs for our top 4 'challenge''

Fortunate but huge win!

Keep playing like this, we won't make the top-4. Poor again.

Okay at times in the first half, yet lacking a cutting edge. Largely average in the second half, yet managed to get the goal. Pleased overall.

Absolute smash and grab. The tactics and style we're playing is awful. We need to go back to pacey dynamic attacking football.

Get the feck in. We played really well until Di Maria came off. Awful substitution, was creating chances but sloppy. We should have scored so much sooner but after the sub we did nothing. Thank feck for Rooney's work rate and their keepers feck up. Big win.

Young > Di Maria right now

The footballing equivalent of being stuck in the desert, with a bottle of water in glass case, and having nothing to break it with.

Or Something.

Utterly undeserved. They had the best chances, and should have had a penalty. Ugly as feck goal. Bothered.

Newcastle were fecking poison. Just terrible. If we didn't win that, we wouldn't have deserved top 4.

Newcastle were there for the taking and we made it much harder than it should have been.

Three points keep us in the race but we need dramatic improvement quickly if we are going to hold off arsenal and liverpool.

Won't be laughing much if we turn up to the big teams playing like that. There is zero confidence in the team, and you can tell when we go forward. Players have got to take the initiative and be more daring like in the past, because we are more predictable than the Moyes era right now.

Otherwise, vital 3 points that keeps us (barely) in top 4 contention.

HUGE WIN!

could anyone see Falcao or VP chasing down like Rooney did for that goal?

What the heck was Krul doing?

a bit of luck that could be a step towards a great finish to the season....

beat Arsenal and keep the momentum going

Liverpool and Arsenal would have had such a boost had we drawn that....

On the game itself there was nothing new.....

to slow, too predictable and when you start Fellaini ahead of Mata/Falcao you are going to pass up some creativity....

Rooney was great I thought and De Gea flawless again

Deserved victory, but boy, we barely managed to win.

De Gea is a fantastic keeper. Van Gaal has the ability of completely killing our game with his subs. Despite that Di Maria was losing the ball quite often, every action was going through him and he had just created 2 chances in the last 2 minutes. No idea why he was subbed while on the end it was a complete madness to send Carrick instead of Falcao.

Another shocking, shocking performance. We don't deserve the 3 points. DDG bailed us out big time there. The Young goal was all because of the sheer persistence and determination of Wayne Rooney. He's the only one who looked like he cared tonight.

I have no faith in LVG or his outdated philosophy. There, I said it.

If we do remain fourth by the end of the season, it'll all be because of DDG and sheer dumb luck.

Papered over the cracks. This team is flatter than Adam Johnson's Mrs.

So slow. ADM is terrible yet we were better with him.

We can't miss out on top 4 with this kind of luck. Impossible.

The better team won, but such crap finishing just will not do.

A big win, and maybe Carrick coming back will help us.

We had chances, to be fair. It was all possession, no penetration as-per usual. Lack of urgency but a win is a win.

The celebrations show how big this win is. I thought we controlled the game, had a number of chances and deserved to win.
