Man Utd 1:0 Newcastle - Rashford (30')

Man Utd 1:1 Newcastle - Saint-Maximin (36')

Man Utd 2:1 Newcastle - James (57')

Man Utd 3:1 Newcastle - Bruno (75' pen)

Worst performance of the season but somehow we won the game.

Really bad hour but James getting that goal settled us and we were subsequently pretty decent.

3 points is the only positive from the game.

Hopefully Matic will get some praise, 2nd and 3rd goal were after his plays in big part. Also he always tries between lines passes...

3 points and we move on. The games against city and chelsea worry me with how we are playing.

Happy for the 3 points. Need some distance between us and the chasers for top 4.

Otherwise, job done.

Poor until James goal. Maybed tired from midweek. Worrying first half. Much better second half.

Horrible performance but when you need a win you want Newcastle as your opponent

Superb second half performance. Matic immaculate MOTM. Excellent performances from Rashford, Bruno (surprise, surprise!), Shaw, and James.

Did what we needed to do. Very happy. Game management was exceptional after a Thursday away trip in the EL.

Better second half, first half among the worst of season. Martial turned in a true horror show. Shoretire debut softens a mediocre game as does opening gap to pool and Chelsea

We can struggle sometimes after a game in midweek. Luckily it was only Newcastle.

Rubbish game but we won. Looked shakey at the back at times and looked a bit predictable up front. 3 points is what matters though.

Rashford good. James good. Bruno silent, but still a goal and assist. Matic good. Shaw good.

AWB decent.

Fred awful. Martial awful. Maguire bad. Lindelöf bad.

Martial should never start a game again.

Great to see Shola.

Marcus took his goal well and shows why comparisons to Tony are ludicrous.

Bruno quiet but G+A.

Dan James good goal.

Fred cannot pass or shoot.

Shaw excellent again.

Maguire and Lindelof make football look hard.

We made Newcastle look like a genuine credible attacking threat for the best part of an hour... Which should probably be seen as some sort of war crime.

Anyway we won, ended the game strongly, need to be better next weekend.

A must-win game that we won - so all is good - but the defense must give Ole a migraine. Even the most average players and the most harmless situations look lethal against us.

Overall, I think we improved a lot after our second goal. Part of it or mostly due to Newcastle getting tired out after their high press during the first 60 minutes and they didn't manage to maintain it. Since our second goal it has been one sided game for us, very comfortable at the end as well.

Very important 3 points for our top 4 position anyway. We need to find ways to deal with high pressure though. We're crap in it. Maguire, Lindelof and De Gea seem like they'll shit the bed whenever anyone presses them high up the pitch.

Wasn't a great start to the match but as soon as we got the 2nd I felt we controlled the game well. Possibly Dan James's best game of the season and my MOTM, Rashford had a good 2nd half too. Also congrats to Shola for getting his debut, hopefully first of many matches to come.

Crap win. It's a nice change to be able to say that. Freds worst game. Martial nonexistent. Matic decent. Shaw MOTM again.

Reminded me of West Ham away. Absolutely atrocious first half, woke up in the second half.

Also, Fergie is suffering from Covid hair like the rest of us.

Wasn't pretty but feck it. 3 points are the main thing

James surprisingly good - he lacks a bit in the final third, but he had a lot more energy than a few of our other players

brutal but good enough to get a result even in the state we are in.

going to be hard to maintain any momentum. amazing how thin the squad suddenly looks with a couple of injuries and the realisation that we can't rely on very young players for any consistency.

great to get a result in a tough environment when other teams are struggling though
