Meh performance. We just don't know how to break down defenses unless we get a moment of magic like Rashford's.

Bruno can't be the only creator in this team if we want to challenge next year

Did well after we got the second, scrappy before that, though. We need to stop giving underperforming players important minutes, but at least we can enjoy a win. Good results in other matches for us as well.

Important 3 points but we'll need to be a lot better in the next few weeks.

Good on Dan James getting the goal after reading all the 'low block' experts before the game.

Until Newcastle tired out, we were second best in this game.

Couldn't get out of our own half, couldn't string a couple of passes for the life of us.

A well timed James goal got us out of jail, and a Rashford dive got us safely over the line.

Martial could get pulled in U23's to get some much needed confidence back.

Get Bailly fit. And we could use a bit of Pogba too.

Horrible to watch but we won. That and Bruno being my FPL captain is my positive from today. Diallo should be coming on ahead of Mata.

Nothing special but we did enough.
Showed plenty of composure after the second goal and for once there were no nervy moments toward the end which is a positive.

Total domination in second half. Our passing quality has become much better lately.

Not often I give credit to Matic and James, but today they deserves it..

Good win, cant complain about a 3-1.
James deserves to keep his place

At this rate, I think Martial would have to bring his duvet and go to sleep in the centre circle to be dropped! His awfulness gets worse by the game.

Nothing sort of game, 3 points the only positive.

I mean, is this supposed to be a serious argument? So if he scores one fecking goal out of nowhere, him being shit for 99.9% of the game is fine?

That was a woeful performance from Martial, reminds me of that Ben Arfa performance for Newcastle that made Bruce pull him at half time.

We weren't very good but thankfully they faded badly and then we controlled it well enough to bring a lost child on.

Newcastle pressed pretty well to begin with. However, we also made it a bit easier for them in the sense that when we actually had a pretty good chance of keeping hold of the ball we tried to get it into dangerous positions too quickly and invariably lost it. Our players need to be a bit more intelligent when games are going like that, it can be difficult though when you're used to trying to move the ball up the pitch as fast as possible.
It wasn't until James' goal things really settled down.

From the only two replays I saw of the penalty incident I'm not sure it should have been given.

This game summed up our season perfectly. We were mostly atrocious but somehow scored three goals, we conceded from a set piece, Shaw was great, Bruno somehow got a goal and an assist despite not playing that well, Martial was also there for some reason.

Shoretire really looks like a baby.

I love that De Gea, Lindelof and Maguire think that they are playing for Barcelona... but the problem is they are nowhere near that level of good and inevitably play triangles into a whole lot of trouble

Great win
Don’t care about performance at this stage
So many games and injuries so we just have to find a way to keep winning

We’re still in our sticky spell which is worrying considering our next few league games. Hopefully we can get another win on Thursday, get some players rested and fit again and take it to Chelsea, who are poor at the back. Should be looking for 7 points out of the next 9, however that comes

Some decent individual performances, some good moves and of course three points, but a poor display overall with much to improve upon. Martial doesn't deserve to start matches at the moment, a few other players were well below par and again we look shaky and disorganised when it comes to set pieces and balls in from wide areas.

Brutal first 60 but a win is a win is a win, especially at the moment. If I never have to watch Fred and Matic together in the middle again, it will be too soon.

Perhaps the best game James played for united. Man he was everywhere like he's got two sets of lungs.

Fred is another workhorse. Neither of Fred or James got high footballing IQ but what lacks there they both at least try to compensate with hard work. Same cannot be said for Martial, unfortunately.

Another good game for Rashford, and another great game for Shaw. This is his best season so far.

Bruno is bruno and when he is around, even when he is man-marked, he still drives the team.

Defense is a let down as usual. Bailly is a good partner for Maguire, only if he can stay fit. Otherwise United need to find a solid CB in summer.

Totally uninspiring performance. Not going to lie, very concerned by the direction we are going in. We look totally rudderless and make the same mistakes every game. We won out today thanks to random isolated moments.

Decent second half, important professional performance, Dan James doing well again, shaw continues to be fantastic and saw Shola for the first time. Job done. Defence always looks nervous with calamity Dave in the side.

First half crap second a bit better. Why keep playing Martial he should be done here. Sell in the summer.

Good to get the win, but the performance doesn’t fill you with much confidence going forward

We really needed a win to get back on track in league form. Glad we got it.

Snapshot of our season in one game there. Periods of being bossed by a terrible team, periods of lovely football, some of the passing was Sunday League and then some lovely moments like Rashford's skill to set up his goal and Matic was very good in possession. We always make it hard but we ground that out.

The Rashford goal was vital in the dynamic of the game. I could smell another draw. James took his chance well. Agree it was an awful display, but t think Maguire wasn’t as bad as some were saying. Shaw did well.

Say what you like about James' limitations, but you can't beat having someone who is vaguely like a right winger!

Good to see him getting some goals recently.

Yeah, don't bother. Your comments seem to have the depth of a puddle in the desert, as is so often with some of the posters on this forum who just want to look like they're experts even though they need a visit to Specsavers.
