His stats might be ok. But the performances aren't there.

He isn't a threat to opposition and he hasn't been throughout the course of the season. Pellistri came on for a few minute and both managed to beat his man and make a run that could be spotted.

I'd be fine if he was creative like Di Maria ( which I thought he would be). However, he doesn't make key passes or create chances. His crossing is usually way overhit. He can't go on the outside. When he tries to go inside, the ball just seems caught under him.

I do hope he improves, but we shouldn't be consistently playing a United attacker that doesn't provide a threat. Right now Rashford is the only one consistently doing this. Garnacho does this in patches when he comes on. That's not good enough.

Making any changes would have 'singled out' those players. Or making widespread changes would have probably led to a poor result and just exacerbated the issue.

Sending out the same team and getting a reaction and very good performance and result was the right thing to do and worked perfectly.

A poor goalkick isn't a howler. The clearance to nobody was a howler though.

I do find that sometimes there is a lack of movement from players when he's looking for that short to midrange pass, which when teams are pressing forward can make it difficult. Not that it excuses the pass to a Betis player as he had several options in space.

Half decent first half excluding the De Gea clangers. I think the 7-0 followed him mentally into this game. He was really nervy and it was affecting our defensive cohesion. Great goal smashed in by Rashford, he just can't stop scoring. We then created some chances and got punished by a mistake, can happen.

Second half we were a different proposition entirely. Created chance after chance and did not let in. These past years we usually take our foot off the gas; it wasn't the case tonight, it was a real onslaught.

Special mention to Wan Bissaka, he did an excellent job when he came on and transformed our threat from his side. If he wasn't already, he's certainly ahead of Dalot now. Pellistri had a great cameo. What he did for the goal felt like it happened in slow motion from the Stretford End. Very happy for Weghorst: the greatest player of all time.

Some of wan bissakas balls / runs were incredible.

Just been looking at the upcoming fixtures.

As we *touches wood* should go through now, then there’s going to be some disruption to ours and Sky’s Saturday night schedule.

The quarter finals fall before our Saturday night matches at Forest and home against Chelsea so they will be moved to the Sunday.

However, *if* we beat Fulham in the cup then the FA Cup Semi will be instead of the Chelsea game and that will have to be rearranged. It will be a Europa quarter final on the Thursday and an FA Semi on the Sunday.

It’s a good problem to have but when the hell are we going to fit all these fixtures in before the end of the season?!

If you base his performances so far on his price tag, he's definitely been underwhelming. I don't think anyone would argue otherwise.

But take away the price tag, and for a young player new to the league, he's certainly had his moments. There's a lot of work needed to reach the level required but he also possesses important natural attributes which can help him get there.

And if nothing else, that cutting in and hitting it with his left will give us many moments of magic. Which if that was to be his only redeeming feature, at least it isn't drawing fouls and going down easily like the guy he was compared with above.

Unless someone tells me the definition of a 'chance', demonstrates the average xG per chance (since we're going there) are comparable, I might think about it.

And even then, they're different players. Antony has the required intensity (usually) and mental fortitude to play in the PL. It doesn't seem like EtH thinks Sancho does (at least yet). Also, Sancho mainly creates for others, Antony likes shooting (so basically a right-side Rashford).

They are both useful but looking at stats like this is just not giving a rounded analysis view.

Good performance, great result. Should've been more. Would've been more if Rashford stayed on. This should allow us to rest players for the second leg if required.

As for the players' reaction after Sunday, they largely delivered. I'm afraid Dalot played himself out of the starting XI and DDG only kept his place due to no better alternative. But on the positive side, Bruno completely dominated the second half, Rashford went back to scoring and Antony could've had a hattrick.

But the highlight was Weghorst scoring at the Stretford End. He doesn't have the ability of a United player but he has the heart of one. Really happy for him. Pellistri was also fantastic when he came on, as he has been every time. Hope EtH sees him as a genuine alternative to Antony on the RW.

Ironically, we should have scored 7 in that game! 4-1 is a decent lead to take into the 2nd leg and a fair reflection of how the game went. I would have been disappointed with 3-1, and I had a feeling of dread that Betis were gonna make it 3-2 before Wout's goal which would have been a complete travesty.

Take aways from the night: de Gea can't play the ball out from the back but we already knew that. AWB has his shortcomings but he's been desperately unlucky to lose his place to Dalot and he should win it back. Bruno looked focused and with a point to prove, more of the same for the rest of the season please. A brief but very impressive cameo from Pellestri has surely earned him a longer run in a PL game to prove it's not a one off.

Antony showed he's a talented player capable of scoring the occasional worldie, but the jury's still out on him. The fact is, no half decent PL left back would have allowed him onto his left to score that goal, he probably couldn't believe his luck. And chipping it over the bar when he had 3 players wide open in front of goal showed he either doesn't see teammates in a better position or chooses to ignore them for his own glory. If he cuts the flicks and the tricks and becomes a team player, he could be very good for us. Hopefully ETH can get it out of him.

But the only scenario where any handball is not given as a handball is if it happens in the direct lead up to a goal? Anywhere else at any other time in the game, any handball is given as handball? Why wouldn't players moving forward attempt to use their hand to gain an advantage just to pass the ball to a team mate and the handball can not be given?
