How the hell is the average rating 7.6? What the hell do you guys want :wenger:

I mean... not sure how much to say about that. We played really well to get to 2-0 and make our superiority count early. The rest after that became a bit of a joke between VAR's comical call to disallow our penalty, the offside stuff which is offside yes but I hate seeing those calls, their 2nd red and pen is probably a dive from Martial but even if a foul, never a red in a million years... I just really really hate VAR.

Anyway, on to the game. Good to see everyone hungry for goals. Shame Mason didn't get on the scoresheet, good to see Tony get 2 (2 good ones too), hopefully he gets some confidence back now. Doesn't hurt our goal difference which was pathetic at home for this stage of the season!

Brilliant win and phenomenal to get the goal difference back in balance after Spurs put us to the slaughter. Onwards and upwards lads!

My only slight disappointment is no Mason goal. 10 would have been perfect

I can honestly say I never expected to see that score again by a Utd side. Fantastic. The only fly in the ointment is Cavani will probably be dropped again.
It looked like no one wanted to pass to VDB and he was our weakest link.

One of those games where you wish you had another 30 minutes of it. Loved that. About time we dished it out.

Scoreline aside, yet again another flat and uninspired performance. Don’t let this mask the fact that Ole can’t coach this team. Zero patterns of play and shocking tactics. Again.

I honestly don't think we were at our best tbh, which is scary.

Weird game. 9-0 is obviously a fantastic result, but hard to read too much into it, although its marvellous for the confidence of our attack.

Now thats how to put a team to the sword. Delighted to see it. Weirdly thought we were in for a long night after the first red card given the whole thought process about "harder to play against 10 men" but that thankfully didnt last long.

3 points and a very positive boost to the goal difference.

top scores in the league. City has 2 games in hand but it's a 9 goal difference

Why do we always start so slow? Need to be putting these games to rest. Look to vulnerable at the back. Ole waits too long to make his subs. Having Martial up front is like playing with 10 men. We're so boring to watch.

Did I miss anything?
Honestly, the opposite side is still a pro-team that plays in the PL. We shouldn't be expecting to dominate right at the beginning.

Jake Humphrey “We’re sitting here talking about a refereeing decision after a joint record Premier League victory. What does that tell you?” That you brought it up you clown.

Don’t care how many players on the pitch. 9 goals speaks for itself. Shows that we can sustain high intensity play for a full match when we use our subs wisely. Liked the forceful passing to feet.

One of those games where the 1st half felt like a completely other game.

That was a very enjoyable night! I would have gone on a bit about why Ole shouldn't have made all three subs so quickly but can't be arsed because its not often you can just enjoy a wonderful goal feast like that. Surprisingly I would say the best two performers on the pitch were Shaw and Wan Bissaka who were both fantastic at both ends of the pitch. Southampton fans must feel aggrieved with their team there, I know they went down to 10/9 men but you still can't capitulate like that.

Must take enormous confidence from that, we will need to be on our A game at the weekend!

Worst decision of the night was just giving 3 minutes injury time.

We’ve had worse nights

Wonderful evenings viewing. Yeah the red card totally changed the game and you’d always expect us to win once that happened. But we still had a job to do and we did it superbly.

We didn’t just play well, but tactically speaking we were astute against a team down to 10, sitting patiently, constantly stretching play and overloading wide areas to create tonnes of chances. Often when a team goes to 10 men it makes it harder for a while because they just sit back with 8 or 9 instead of committing a few forward. But we didn’t struggle, we just took them to the cleaners.
