So disgusted with that result.

It's over for LVG, I believe even he knows that now. We must bring Jose in to salvage anything from this season. It'll be a tall order but we must do something cos it's disappearing before our eyes.

I don't know how I watch this every week. So many at the club stealing a living it's a joke.

Where is Long Ball United when you needed them. Asbolutely devastated by that performance. I don't know if it was the weather or what exactly, but we were piss poor. Mata and Martial to an extent looked decent but even Martial's effect waned when he was shunted to the right to accomodate Memphis. Really disappointed :(. I've been hoping for a long long time that van Gaal will turn this around, that he will leave the squad in a good shape, but every time, the team makes one stride forward, they are taking a couple back.

I'll give him till the end of Feb. If we still struggle at the end of it, I too will join the van Gaal out camp.

This should have been piss easy 3 points.
Instead we get dominated by the worst side in the league.
Now we've dropped 13 points to the likes of Bournemouth, Norwich, Sunderland and Newcastle United combined.
feck this season.

Yeah I'm not really sure what Schneiderlin, gives us really. Doesn't tackle, can't run, not a great passer, rarely gets in the box. He's hardly mentioned in commentary. No wonder Van Gaal opts for Fellaini. At least he tries not to be shit.

The club goes out of its way to say that they are the "biggest in the world" at every chance they get.

Why do we not act like it? I'm not just talking about the manager, its the players as well. De Gea aside, would any of these players start for Real Madrid or Barcelona or Bayern Munich?

This probably comes across as a rant, but I'm absolutely sick of seeing average players like Lingard getting regular games for this club. Even our 'good' players apart from 1 or 2 are probably in the 3rd tier of world football in terms of talent.

Why do we settle for this crap?

The worst thing is it wasn't even flukey or undeserved by Sunderland. They created more chances, and better chances, than we did. Once again, we were awful.

We act like one, we just don't play like one

It hurts me to read your English.

Ah right....it seems to make sense to me. If Hart of Mingolet conceded either of them goals then people would say they should of done better for both goals. Does that make sense? Or was your hilariously witty response some weird defence mechanism a load of United fans seem to get when someone dares criticise de Gea?

Quick, send LVG an email to use that as his excuse.

If the matches amongst the Top 4 go against us, by Monday, United can pretty much kiss Top 4 goodbye. For now holding onto the smallest of hopes.

That loss is the last straw and we are going to miss out on CL this season.
De Gea will leave in the summer
We will be stuck in Europa League and no top players will come
We will become the noisy neighbours.

feck me. LVG you are killing us.
That's why it has to be Jose.

I'm surprised anyone is surprised with the performance. Except the obvious LvG apologists.

This squad simply isn't good enough for the top four, in both quality and depth. It's all well and good playing the kids and bringing them through. But this season, we are having to rely on nearly half a dozen of them every match. And then the bench with players that have either yet to make a single premier league appearance or only a handful. Just look at today - Jackson, Lingard, Love and Keane all playing a part. And then also part of the match day squad you had weir and Pereira unused on the bench. A team that wants to be up there challenging for the title should never have left itself so thing on experienced players that more than one or two youngsters are being blooded at the same time.

Add to that, our experienced players don't seem to care or have the ability to play the style of football that LVG is pushing upon them, making them look like scared rabbits that are to afraid to try anything for fear of messing it up. Only DDG and Martial can hold there heads up this season, the rest have been inconsistent at best to down right poor.

I wish I could say I'm not surprised by the performance and result, but I am. That was a complete digrace. I understand we're a very average team at the moment, but I did expect more passion and at least some level of fight. It really does sum up where we're at as a club. We don't deserve a top four spot in any way. It was a must win game against a completely beatable team, and we never looked likely.

The blame clearly rests with both Van Gaal and the players. It's been patently obvious for weeks and weeks that Van Gaal needs to go, but the club are hell bent on letting our season get to the point of no return. I don't expect that will change after this match, unfortunately. There are a few players who should be shown the door in the summer as well. Very disheartening and worrying times for the club.

With Cameron Bortwick-Jackson, Donald Love, Jesse Lingard and Will Keane on the pitch, it's a result to be expected in truth.

Don't think those players were the difference one way or the other. You've got a team that's collectively struggling. Set piece defending has been a nightmare for a while, De Gea has more often than not saved us, he was a bit sloppy today given his high standards, and then it costs us. Rooney wasn't great, the midfield due of Carrick and Schneiderlin was pretty poor and we offered very little really. The youngsters weren't even bad IMO. In not being able to beat Sunderland I think the problem is mostly mental.

When will our fecking inept board sack cocaine nose, at the same time someone needs to sack this fecking board, or whoevers in charge they`ve done a unacceptable and disastrous job these last 2-3 years

Only needed to be half decent this season to win the league, we've failed miserably

I know what you mean, it really is bemusing. We are a huge club who inexplicably settles for mediocrity. It's fecking bonkers.

Can you even imagine Barca, Real, or Bayern acting the way we have as a club in the last 3 seasons? It isn't even conceivable.

Simply can't watch other teams (especially West Ham under Billic) playing sexy football after that dross! Searching for a rugby thread … abso-fecking-lutely gutted!
I know that feeling. I hate it when we play the early match, because when we go on to lose I can't watch any football for the rest of the weekend.

Second half was quite alarming. There's no blaming the ref or picking out players mistakes, that was simply an inept display. This comes from the top down to the manager and all the decisions they've made and how they manage. I fear De Gea is gone.

This crap started more than 5 years ago. That's how much time it takes to build a top quality squad. There are not enough world class players for sale to do it in two years.

I hope we can pull something out the bag in the Europa League cause we sure as shit ain't getting in top 4.

Why do we settle for this crap?

Most people said we had the best summer ever, in the transfer market. Our attempts to sign elite players were mocked. How the issue is perceived can change radically depending on the framing. Great managers can make average players look good, and bad ones can make great players look shit.

On paper, I think we easily have a top 4 squad. Easily.

decimated squad but come on, we couldn't string a pass together. And seeing Martial being the one who has to move around to make room for others who are half as dangerous as he is, is just mind-boggling.

Our team is full of kids. They are good when they are good, and bad when they are bad. They don't know how to be winners yet.

I believe that Depay will come good with time, but we don't have the luxury of patience with him this season. It hasn't helped him that Luke Shaw hasn't been there to support him.

After all the money spent we're back to the Blackett and Michael Keane days at the start of Van Gaal's tenure. We're fielding our U-21 team at both fullback slots, plus Lingard and Will Keane (and Depay for that matter!).

Meanwhile, Mourinho's comments in the past about Mata as a "luxury player" seem right. Yes, he created the only chances, including the build up to the United goal, but he contributes too little defensively and lacks pace for the counter attack. In a strong team, he'd be great, but it isn't working out for us.

Rooney has looked sharper, but he just isn't getting the service.

And why we didn't bring in another CB last summer to partner with Smalling is beyond me.

Mourinho will know what to do even if I don't want him for United.

Should have subbed for Keane early instead of rooney and Memphis should have been on the right wing. We needed someone who could break Sunderland's momentum around 65-70 min mark. If the sub's do not create the right impact in a game like this, then they are pretty pointless.

I don't think Martial was doing anything 2nd half on the left either tbf. He just went off the boil. At least Memphis had a few opportunities by playing on the left which I suspect he wouldn't have got on the right.

Agree about the timing of the Keane sub though.
