I suffer delusions of grandeur
I'd have no issue at 3-0 tbf. Dodgy doing it at 2.
People are asking for a major trophy after 3 years, 6 transfer windows and half a billion quid spent. Elimination by Atletico Madrid during SAF times was a disaster, but SAF guaranteed a major trophy every two-three years, despite having to cope with mega-spending Chelsea and City. I think its quite fair to expect one from Mou at the end of next season. Every team has its dry spells but it does not mean that those managing them were successful. If the aim is to qualify for CL then Mou has turned into a rich-man's Wenger basically. Especially if Mou is a genius, and not a romantic of football. He was beat fair and square by a rookie manager of a team that cost a fraction of United's squad.I don't think it fair to judge Jose on weather he wins the title next season or not. We should ofcurse challenge for it and be much closer than we were this season, but winning the title itself depends on so much variables. If we come in 2nd on GD, would you want him fired?
And your'e speaking as if there were never any upsets in the CL. Monaco beat City last year, and with all due respect to last season's Monaco, they were way inferior to City in terms of squad options. Chelsea who finished 6th or 7th I dont remember beat Bayern in the Allianz Arena in the CL final, and if the great Sir Alex went out to Atletic Bilbao. It happens. Jose is the one to blame for the elimination because I think he got the tactics wrong, but stuff like that happen and it is not the end of the world. Were having a pretty damn good 2018 so far, We beat both Chelsea and Liverpool at home, Top 4 is almost guranteed and we have a pretty good shot at finishing 2nd. We can't act like this season has been a disaster. It's not our best ever obviously, But it's the best we've had in years, and if people we categorize every season we don't win either the title or the CL as a failure, than we are going to fail a lot and sack a lot on managers in the process, because the kind of dominance we had in the PL is almost impossible to replicate(over a period of 20+ years)

Fergie justified that he can be relied upon that is why he was given time to rebuild. Mou showed that he falls out with players and can easily have a major meltdown. Both Madrid and Chelsea did well after Mou left them. If we take City as a benchmark in spending, then we can forget about winning the Prem, because they can outspend us anytime. How about CL are we not supposed to beat the teams that spend less than us? Is Mou a genius or can only guarantee success if is allowed to outspend anyone? Please show me a manager at a top club who was given 3 years, tons of money, allowed to buy 10-11 players, failed to win the league and was left in his job and considered to be successful.Fergie guaranteed a trophy every two or three years once he’d been in the job longer than Jose.
City hadn’t got anything like the squad they have now.
He was a rookie who beat United with a team that cost a fraction of our outlay.
Half a billion? Get some integrity. Even that would’ve been far more justified than Guardiola’s spend, considering the mess he walked into.
They could afford to give SAF the time, the finances in football were different then, the european trophies set up were different. There wasn't the massive TV money being thrown about, no CL money. Nowadays clubs need this money, so managers have to be successful. A long spell out of the CL is a disaster for some clubs.Fergie guaranteed a trophy every two or three years once he’d been in the job longer than Jose.
