Post-match discussion

Was a good performance have to credit Solskjaer with his pre match comments regarding a plan clearly he was able to manifest it into the first team. As it stands we still need waaayyyy more consistency because give it a fortnight and everyone is back to complaining.

My only point was that the idea of some fans not enjoying the win because it buys Solskjaer some time is not pure fiction: those fams do exist. I never claimed they were a majority or even a majority of the Ole Out fans.
Great win and great performance... we deserve it. Happy to see Fred starting to put in good performances.

Quality performance tonight. It felt real good watching United play decent football.

Fred is getting better all the time. Let’s hope he can carry on improving, fantastic performance.

If only we could perform like this every game.

We're officially game raising cnuts. The stuff of plucky small timers. Crazy as it sounds I can't even write us off against Citeh. It's Colchester I'm most worried about next. Seriously good win especially given the context. No need to waste time on the analysis. We know we're not very good at the moment. We'll get better when we buy better, more competent players. Even with Ole. Bring on Citeh (said cowering behind the sofa).

Meh, Happy United won but Tottenham were awful. Why does it take big games for the players to put in the effort thats needed?

I think the issue we have here with the utd team is unprofessionalism. Those players are not professionals.

Remember our initial winning streak when solksjaer was interim? Well, its funny how the players actually play very well meeting mourinho again.

I reckon they only played so well today and back then was because they hated mourinho.

We'll be back to the same utter dross in the next couple games until we play Tottenham again

Really loved how hard the players were passing the ball to each other. Reminded me of the 2008 onwards era. Those guys used to really put some zip in their passes.

Ole needs two more windows. When we are good we are really good. I hope he gets the chance to get a few more bodies in.

Honestly can’t remember the last time I saw a team smashing the ball that hard to each other. It was great to watch - particularly because we were mostly keeping control of the ball.

Phew.

Deserved win, no question about it - but it really should have been more comfortable.

When Rashford fecked up that long ball from Shaw at the end, I was certain they were going to equalise.

It was an abysmal pass. Shaw had bags of time and still managed to feck it up.

The game that ended United's season. Not getting rid of him now, but as we all know it counts for absolutely nothing.

And no, the 5th win of the season is not supposed to make me happy.

It was a brilliant display from us and an exciting game. What more do you want? So tired of this doom and gloom even when we win; savour the moment or feck off elsewhere with your whinging.

Fantastic performance! Scoreline should have been far greater that what it was. Totally deserved that win and made Spurs, a side that looked like it had turned a corner, very mediocre. We were absolutely terrific. Even when Alli equalised against the run of play, I just had a feeling this was our game and the 3 points were going to be ours.

Having said that, it just beggars the question why we can’t seem to play like this against the lesser teams? Is it a motivational thing?

We have better movement across the frontline without Martial, and better tempo to our passing without Pogba. That's why, for once, we were able to dominate a team for the full 90 minutes, despite the opposition sitting deep and denying us space.

Don't get me wrong, though. Pogba and Martial are our two most talented players. They just happen to be bad at the things that elevate the team dynamics. Both are magical talents, with an unmagical ability to drag the people around them down on their bad days.

This performance was all about Rashford, Greenwood and James buzzing about like flies; and Fred, McTominay and Lingard passing the ball on quickly (although, to be honest, uncreatively).

But a bit like Liverpool, you don't need creativity in midfield if you have simple passing allied with constant intelligent motion up front.

I hate to say it, but there were a lot of similiraties to Klopp's gameplan today. The cnut.

It was an abysmal pass. Shaw had bags of time and still managed to feck it up.
I think he's on about the long ball after that. Shaw gave rashford a peach of a ball and he took too long to finish and ended up getting closed down. Was a beauty of a pass!

Mctominay is fast becoming one of our most important players. A completely difference with him in the middle, steel, calmness and control. We still have not lost against the top 5, won 2 drew 2. We need to convert this against lower teams. Complacency is a HUGE issue. Well don to the lads tonight, at least my next few days will be happy ... until Saturday.

Young was garbage, Limgard was garbage, Greenwood was non-existent yet we looked like class.

Imagine having top quality players in their place.

Sweet day

First half performance and Rashford performance were delightful. Win on top of all that? I am just gonna shut up and enjoy this one. There were few problems... Crap, I said I am gonna shut up. Let's hope things get better from now on. First half performance was rejuvenating to see.

Was at first game I've been go this season tonight. Such a good atmosphere. Lots of excitement on the break. Fought for the win. Lingard was injured 25 mins in and put in a great shift. Fred obviously terrific but mcsauce great too, especially on the ball. Greenwood didn't get up to much but at least occupied the middle.

My biggest whinge all season has been about our slow starts. We've shown flashes all year that when we play quick we're really fckin dangerous and yet so often (newc, whu, shef u, bmouth etc etc) we start poorly and sleep walk into tough situations.

Tonight showed just how good we can be when we set the tempo, you'll probably find we played just as many sloppy passes but because they went forward and because we worked like dogs to get it back it didn't matter, spurs had no time at all to settle and get a foothold. Spurs are a better side too btw, at least on paper but we pretty much totally dominated them. Was great to see.

We must keep that tempo up though, this team can't do patient atm

Anyone notice the power behind our passes? Seems like something we’ve been working on, it was a little odd but when it works it’s very effective. Obviously requires precision otherwise you’re giving possession away.

Really good performance, nothing to complain about really for a change!
Keeps us away from the dreaded relegation places for a bit. ;)

Jose had an interesting theory about United post match. That they are better against better teams. "The expectations change". So when they are expected to beat a side, they struggle. Weird, but kind of believeable.

That was a lot lot better especially the first 30 minutes however we then dropped off and they scored a very good goal which I dont think was hand ball his arm was far too close to his body

Was convinced we would miss the penalty!

Strange subs by Ole thought Pereira was for McT which would have been Ok as he's only just coming back from injury

Tottenham were very open which played into our hands as we had lots of space which continues the recurring theme that it's the tightly packed defences we/Ole struggle with they were so open we were cutting through them with ease as apart from their front 4 their midfield is weak also.

Was saying we need to make the most of us being on top they then scored. Slightly fortuitous penalty, I'd have more faith in Ole if he could show better ideas for unlocking tight defences

Based on the comments about Rashford and Martial not being in the box when James put in his crosses last game I noticed more bodies in the box

Still a lot of questions and like people on here said did they put in more effort because of who managed the opposition. If Ole does stay, I need to see him profit more against the smaller teams, we saw in the opening 30 minutes how the team can play so why can't he achieve this consistently, he said that's what he wants it's his job to achieve it.

Rashford was very good and perhaps repeated game time is helping Fred gain a little consistency

We need to take more advantage when we are on top so the pressure isn't as great if we do concede a goal

Nice to see Ole make a point of going to acknowledge the crowd after the game. Liked the Amazon coverage though felt they were a little dismissive of Jose's time with us as they said he didn't do much here when actually he won a couple of trophies including the Europa and came 2nd which in hindsight is looking a better achievement than first thought

Excessive use of smilies
:lol::lol: Can't believe I watched that instead of Leicester. Or that you guys consider that a good performance :lol::lol:

Good win today. The players put in the kind of effort they should be putting in every game.
Unfortunately it's city next, so it'll be difficult build and momentum off it.

Most enjoyable game of the season by a long way. If we played like that every game I’d be happy with not always winning.

Had a feeling we’d game raise for it.
That's it. That's all most of the fans wanted from Ole this season. Some verve and watchable football. The manager to be able to motivate his team to best lesser teams let alone any of the top6 on a regular basis.

Great result and performance. In reality though, the only thing that match proved is that the players on the field are still playing for Ole. Either that or they so badly wanted to get one over JM.
As for Ole himself, he showed nothing new, still the same plan A of countering team that attack us and doing so well. JM was just dumb enough to fall for it. I actually think he wanted to beat us so badly that against his natural instinct, he attack us, away from home and it back fired.
We're basically the Robin hood of the premier league, take from good teams (Leicester, spurs, Chelsea, liverpool, arsenal) and give away to the shit ones (basically everyone else).
So it short, as much as I'd like to think it's a corner turned, it changes nothing.
Still though, if pogba comes back and takes 10, young drops out, martial comes back and we continue to play with the same intensity, plan A against shit teams could look better.

I would like to express my condolonces to 54% of Caf that voted, and all of those who wanted us to lose, and those who were saying we gonna get "smashed", "stuffed", etc.
Have a great day.
This post is part of the problem. Those votes are not what people want to see, it's the predicted outcomes. And if you're being realistic and actually watching United then it's not crazy or vile or being a bad fan. But to make a post dedicated to anyone with a sense of realism and then painting them with this brush that they're bad, unsupportive fans...that's tactless.
