To be honest the defence seemed good, the midfield just wanted to pass it sideways, up front we had no power no desire
no nothing, di maria i just dont get it? he crossed three times and they all went out for a goal kick , i did suggest to my son that he looked like a player that wanted out.

My conclusion is that certain players didnt give anywhere close to 100% they are the reason we lost this game .

I personally can't wait for all "we must do better" platitudes from the players that seems to follow every performance like this.

Yeah no shit lads. Enjoy your £250k though by all means. Stealing a living some of this lot.

You pick out Valencia and Young, who were about the only two who actually looked like they wanted to create something?

Not picking them out it's just pretty clear we lack quality in lots of positions and if that doesn't change over the summer we can expect more of the same next season. This squad is not going to win trophies because too many players aren't good enough to be more than squad players.

A bit of perspective is needed here.

Fuming, but overall, I thought we were by far the better side and on any other day, we would have easily won that game. Up against a team dead set on having ten men behind the ball, we created more than enough chances to score including a penalty which was well-struck and brilliantly saved. Credit needs to be given to their goalie.

That said, a good number of our players were below par today. Blind, Herrera were annoyingly average whilst Di Maria, well, let's just say it wasn't his day.

I'm not worried just yet.

David Moyes did not even go three games without a win. Van Gaal need to get sackedJust kidding ; )

First time in eight years that we haven't scored for three games in a row. The glee in Drury and Beglin's voice when narrating the stat was palpable.

We are naive. We need to go at them straight from the beginning. Early goal, then we can finish them off. Always when we pass it like that and are happy with posession, we get found out. It doesnt matter how good/bad the opposition is, we always concede.

How can you even expect to score playing that way, methodically passing around the edge of the box with no tempo, or movement and a complete lack of will to take your man on and beat him, it's so bloody easy to defend against, every time we give their holding midfielder MotM, it's not them being fantastic, its us being so damned predictable.
3rd game in a row all possession, 0 goals.

Probably the most frustrating game this year, well except Leicester. Van Gaal bears ultimate responsibility for not being able to motivate this side to score a single goal in three games.

We deserved that after a laboured piss poor start, one of the most frustrating United games I have seen in donkeys, granted unlucky second half but all our own making.

To compound my misery we have given the bin dippers a slight sniff now, should have been dead and fecking buried last week.

To quote RAWK:
dogshit, dogshit, DOGSHIT, feckING DOGSHIT!

The squad can certainly be improved, there's little doubt about that, but I'm more concerned about players like Rooney and Di Maria, who are on huge wages and yet are going game after game without contributing.

On another day, we win that game 3, 4 or even 5-1.
They got battered, but their goal was coming the moment McNair conceded that FK.

The set of circumstances that led to their clean sheet were unbelievable.

Brought back memories of that FA Cup tie against Portsmouth.

WBA will never replicate that performance all season, much like Everton, Leicester or even Burnley. They seem to step it up against us. I hope they get thrashed in the last three games of the season for playing that bullshit football.

When all fecking relegation fodder have their best performance of the season against you then something must be wrong here. Blaming it on luck is lazy.

Am I the only one who think we were not complete rubish and actually was the better team by a mile and deserved to win. Their goal was just one of those goals that happen now and again that you can do nothing about and besides that they didn't create a single chance. On another day we could have won this one by 3 or 4 goals but it just wasn't our day.

We had 2 strikers in midfield, a midfielder upfront and a winger at left back....another winger at right back and a #10 on the right wing

The squad is a complete mess. I could even add Herrera who was played in DM, again not his proper position.

This, and it has little to do with "luck".

****ing useless performance, tbh. That's now 3 games without a goal for a team who supposedly boast 150M of attacking prowess.

It is easy to see why we are not creating clear cut chances. Juan Mata cannot play on the right wing. He's useful but not effective there and against opposition who will sit deep and park the bus, such as today, he is virtually isolated without being able to run at players and play off others. I also think that having Falcao on the bench is pointless. Either ****ing play him or drop him. As soon as I saw RvP going up take the penalty, I knew it'd be a miss. First game back; leave it to Rooney. It also looks like Young's miracle streak has come to an end - he didn't manage to provide much today and with Blind only having an average game himself, the left flank did not offer as much as usual. In fact, we insisted on playing through the middle as much as we could. Herrera is not a CDM. He cannot play there and shouldn't be expected do. Similarly, Fellaini isn't a LCF so I find it inexplicable for him to be sent up there.

All in all, we weren't unlucky at all - we lacked class and real quality where it mattered. Teams have worked out how to play against us. We could have 99% possession and still lose to a set-piece... LvG has to sort it out quickly or I am going to lose my patience. He has got to go back to the 4-3-3 fluid philosophy and play the best players in the best positions. Enough of this balance bull****.

Feck... When you put it like that

West Brom did park the bus but if you aren't aggressive and don't put teams under pressure you won't score. I'm getting fed up with these possession stats, they mean nothing. We've been found out tactically, I'd rather bore the ass off other teams and win than play like this and lose.

Dont agree at all, we look woefully one dimensional going forward.
Could see them getting a goal and holding out long before it happened.

I literally can't see any other explanation. More shots on goal, a penalty, overwhelming possession - what more do you need for a win?

I agree.

If this was a first or second case of such teams parking the bus and getting a result against us we could blame it on luck but this isn't a "first or second case."

Keep saying this "just wasn't our day" but say that constantly over the season and it becomes a pattern.

The problem is that you can say that about our last 3 matches. Eventually it stops becoming luck.

Wish we would stop playing players out of position. It has led to our demise countless times this seasons.

We were very unlucky today but clearly we were the better side and should have won. Had we actually played with more pace and gambled a bit more we might have.

You will never win the league with Fellaini and Young as your first choices. We seriously have to start ADM because being benched clearly has killed his confidence. Having Carrick back would also really help because everyone gets to play in their preferred positions.

Its not even about motivation. Its about our cluelessness in tearing parked buses apart. WBA were absolutely toothless and were praying for a draw today, yet we managed to bottle it. LvG can not and should not expect every team to play an open football against us, so that we use our superior individual quality. The main problem for me is our tactical rigidity and not the level of motivation. Imagine what happens if we drop points against Palace...

Show some urgency before we concede that fluke? Just a suggestion like. Y'know bombarding the box got us close in the last 30 minutes so why waste the first 2/3 of the game passing sideways? Is LVG taking tips from Cleverley?

At the end of the day, Pulis came and did exactly what he wanted to do. That's not good in my eyes.

Hold on though, it's not 100% the squad … it's their organisation. they are only doing what they are told to do.
We were crying out for space today so why not play our best forwards up front (where they should be)? Why not play our creative midfielders behind them (where they should be)? And why not use Jones or Blind in the defensive midfield and let them get a bit of a sniff at goal? It might have opened the game up a bit more which is what it was crying out for after all!

After the last two performances I'm amazed some on here are still calling those who are worried about getting top four "kneejerk".

Yeah but those who are calling people knee jerk are delusional. LVG is the messiah 3 losses on the trot is all unlucky we have 70%, 60% and 80% possession that has to be good right?

With teams like West Brom, you'd think we'd go for the jugular from the start. Tear into them and go for the early goal. Force Pulis to change his tactics early on. Playing fancy passes in front of a packed defence, especially when they're slow-paced passes, just plays into the hands of a team like Albion.

They created absolutely nothing before they scored which was from a very lucky deflection and they created nothing after that.

I don't think you could say that about the Everton game we were piss poor in that game. Today was nothing like that because we could easy have scored 3 or 4 goals today and West Bromwich didn't create a single goalscoring chance all game so for me today was a big improvement performance wise on the Everton game.

Squad full of shit to average players.

A handful that are "good".

One that is truly world class. feck me I hope he signs a new contract...

Is this last three games really all down to losing Carrick? If it is you just shudder to think where we'd be if he'd missed the last 3 months.

We wasted the first 60minutes doing absolutely nothing but going sideways patiently, we never looked dangerous until we went behind,
It was the exact same pattern emerging as the Southampton game at OT earlier, we've seen it all before, yea we were unlucky, but the pattern and inadequancy in our playing style is all too familiar.

That is exactly right. No better way to get bus out of the parking lot. Teams get more and more comfortable when you keep dicking around in front of them for 60 minutes.
