This would have been a disappointing result for an away fixture, let alone playing at Old Trafford. Not too many positives, but at least there was a little bit of positive play at the end of the game.

If was more entertaining football then we've seen of late as well

It was something like 20 attempts, with only 1 on target. The lack of composure by those shooting was ridiculous.

Happy to see us give it a go as the end neared. Depay brought some much needed energy. However, people saying that we should've won are having a laugh. We should've lost, and quite easily at that. How they didn't score is a mystery and LVG can be thankful that luck was with him yet again to get this draw. LVG has to go if we can get someone in the summer. This is not working.

No Rooney no party!

At least Memphis did well. Deserves to start against Wolfsburg

Apart from Schneiderlin, Martial, Smalling and DdG; who's good enough for our starting eleven? Depay got the potential but the rest are not good enough to be anything other than squad players.

I think the players have a lot more to show than they currently are. LVG has stifled the shit out of our attacking players.

He dug his own grave.

Starting the season with Rooney and two teenagers as strikers.

Predictable stuff happening now, and he'll lose his job, rightly so.
Seriously, what the feck was he thinking? I'd rather have kept RvP than be in the situation we are in now.

Wasted opportunity. These 0 0 draws are very worrying and I just don't know where the goals are going to come from. It wasn't s bad performance, Smalling and De Gea played well again and I thought Darmian had a good game, but McNair was poor along with Mata who should be doing more

Our midfield is just not good enough. In a formation with a single striker, the three behind him need to have that instinct and score goals regularly. That simply isn't happening at the moment.

We are far too static and safe for our own good. At least we did not have to carry a player today at number 10 and hence we created quite a few chances. Winning this one would have been us going out of jail.

Also our defence was gobs Hite even considering that people were playing out of position. The only reason we didn't concede was we were too damn lucky.

I don't care what anyone says but that game was different to the last few. We attacked plenty but West Ham defended like demons and we didn't have that bit of luck.

I thought Lingard, Fellaini, Carrick and Martial did a lot right and Memphis was excellent when he came on. Mata was the only attacking player I would say was under par this afternoon.

Play like that against most sides and we'll score plenty. Might concede a couple as well though!

Exactly my thoughts as well, we did create plenty today and it's a shame Mata and Martial couldn't put their chances away. On another day they would have, we just didn't have that bit of luck today. Though saying that West Ham could say the same so was just one of those weird games where no one could be clinical pretty much. Positive signs though compared to the last few performances. Very frustrating not to get the result though, was badly needed.

Pretty good second half, I've seen 3 attacks that showed what this style of football is about, and the rest wasn't that boring either. Unlucky not to finish one of the clear cut chances.

I'm not happy but gotta say, all this talk of sack LVG is fcukin retarded... is that how knee jerk some have become?

The game was hardly boring, which is a positive. It was frustrating due to our awful finishing and some of the general play.

I'd give us credit for the chances we created but can't forget the chances West Ham created either. Normally would put it down as unlucky but seriously disappointing.

With City slipping up today if we hope to be winning anything there can't be any excuses for not winning at home against West Ham. We were better but ultimately it's judged on results.

Martial was very good and deserved better. Memphis as well when he came on looked decent. The rest meh.

I really wish there was a winter break where LVG and the team could go back to the drawing board and sort this out. Right now too many games coming on in a quick spurt and the team is not changing their approach.

INDEED. Other teams do well with lesser quality, there's no excuse, simply none!

Entertaining if not disappointing match really. Though i saw a fair few positives from that last half an hour or so. We actually looked like we were playing with some intent and were actually able to create chances, even if we couldn't actually put them away. We really are lacking a clinical striker and it is games like this that it shows. Ideally I would love for us to bring in a central forward to lead the line, and have Martial play from deeper as more of a wide forward. Getting more out of his running and dribbling under pressure ability.

Though while attack showed some signs of improvements, our defence at times today looked very shaky. West Ham players were able to dribble forward far to easily. I particularly wasn't impressed with Varela. He dropped off way to much at times, and allowed them to penetrate our half far to easily.

You only saw these two? I must've imagined all the other chances we had in the last 15 minutes alone

Were they chances? Or were they us just putting pressure in the box? In terms of properly good goal scoring chances, fellaini and Memphis definitely had one each and Lingard had one too.

The result I'll grant you but "this sort of match"... Did you watch it?

Other than looking a bit more threatening than usual at times, we still gave away some of the best chances to the opposition. Player mistakes or not, that happens very frequently

We are going to struggle to make top four I think, with Liverpool winning the league.

:(

Anyone know if Schneiderlin is injured for a while? Last thing we need is another injury crises. Shaping up that way right now.

With this kind of form, we need our best team out there if we stand a chance of getting top 3 this year.

I'm not going to sit here and say LVG out because I know that's stupid given our current standing. But I'm not going to pretend this isn't fecking dire either. This team is awful to watch.

Yet we have conceded the least goals in the league?

Our problem today was getting the ball on target, nothing more. We should have scored 6.

3 goals in the last 6 home matches. Only in 2 of the last 6 home matches we actually scored.

This shit would have made even Capello nervous.

Would the other Behemoth clubs accept it?

Bizarre game. It was far from the boring toss we've seen in recent weeks/months. We attacked and created chances, there was much quicker transitions, the wide men took their man on, but the finishing was horrible.

I don't know why we keep trying McNair at right back. He looks solid in the middle, but hopeless on the right, similar to when Jones and Smalling were put in there a few years ago. Darmian and Young at full back would have been better. Or Blind at LB and McNair in the middle, but that wouldn't have really made a difference.

As much as most of the LvG stick is justified, it's not his fault Lingard sliced an easy chance, or Fellaini scuffed a tap in. We had the chances today, but just not the composure to finish them off. I think the style of play was much better today overall. Just lousy, lousy finishing.

If we don't win vs Wolfsburg, and go out of the UCL, I think Van Gaal could either quit or be fired. Either way, I think we'll part company at the end of the season. He's done well to lay a structure, clean out the dead wood, and stabilize the club after the disastrous Moyes reign. But I've lost faith he can take us forward from here. The purpose of the game is to score goals. I don't think he actually coaches attacking play or finishing.

They are nowhere near the finished article but are scoring freely, they also have a striker! I can see it. Win their next game and it's 26 points, 3 behind with real momentum

What I saw was a lot of opportunities in the box with some awful finishing and terrible decision making. I don't know who to blame but maybe our players are not as good (at least in the box) as we'd like to think.

A few points from me..

We spent £20m on what?

If we can't score against West Ham at home then we got no chance at Wolfsburg.

IMO LVG has to go...he is killing the club!

Fairly entertaining. Attack was more fluid with Rooney.

Players need to be finishing their chances, pretty inexcusable to not be putting more of those chances on target. That applies to both teams tonight.
