Post-match discussion

Having given myself some time to cool off (it didn't work!), while I wouldn't particularly miss Jose if he were to go, the real blame lies with the players. Sorry, but they don't get to choose who there boss is (I'd have changed mine more than once over a 40-year working life) and purposely playing badly (if this is happening) should result in immediate sacking. Who is to blame for the mess? Well Pogba would be more likely to win my heart and mind over had he played well for more than those 15 minutes at City last season and a (very very) few other occasions. He is nowhere near world class as far as I am concerned.... and his attitude could not be further from world class.

Or maybe, looking at over two years of performances that even in better times rarely hit the highs of quality football, and the amount of players not performing well enough, we should look above them. Even when Mourinho's position was stronger we weren't good enough, we didn't get enough out of those players. Or, just as importanly, turned a bunch of talents into a team.

Now things have just become toxic - Mourinho's doing since the summer - and the reality of the matter is a sports team would not function well in such atmosphere. When it's a bunch of players who already underformed and never gelled into a team, you get midtable form. At best.

I agree pretty much although as I said, I blame Pogba for the toxicity: if he played like Roy Keane/Robbo he could get away with it. He doesn't so, for me, he doesn't!

Toxic is also - even more - about the manager turning on his players in post match comments after disappointing results. All due respect to the last couple of weeks with Pogba, it has begun a while ago.

We have 3 away games coming up over next 2 months at Chelsea, City and Liverpool. A measure of had bad we are is I would be celebrating like f**k if we get 2 points from those games. The fact is I am convinced we are on for at least 2 massive defeats, no reason City and Liverpool cant put 5 goals past us in both those games. I just don't see how we can compete/contain these teams.

This isn't what Man Utd is about.

I'm fully accepting these teams are a class above us I'm just not willing to accept that's how it has to be.

1st step is to get rid of Mourinho ASAP, DONT install a long term caretaker manager but go out and get the right man for the job. Give the new manager the rest of the season to get to know the squad then in the summer have the necessary clear out and additions to get us moving forward. We need to accept this won't be transformed in a season but put the right man in place to start a long term project.
Liverpool did this with Klopp, basically you give the manager half a season free grace where he won't be judged or have pressure placed on him.

It doesn't matter now , but if we had bought two young players with heart and ambition instead of Pogba, we would probably be doing a lot better than now. I mainly blame Pogba and sulky Martial for making the dressing room moral rock bottom. If we had got ourseves a decent winger and a centre back things could have been so much better.
I still maintain that Mourino is washed up at the moment and hate his style of football so both him and Pogba should be shown the door.
If I was the manager I would stop Pogba from playing at all and send him on gardening leave.
For those that say Pogba will thrive at better clubs, I dont thing he has the brain, engine or temperament to do well anywhere else. He couldn't put half a shift in as Iniesta or Xavi have done for many a year at Barcelona.

I rather thought it started when Pogba arrived back from the World Cup with his "I'm a World Cup winner" bollox. All Jose said was, he wanted Pogba to play for United as he did for France. And Pogba got miffed. If I'm wrong, then your analysis is correct

and I'm still pissed off, we can't give players a nought rating!

What makes you think they'll be any better than the other players Jose bought?
