Bruno FC.

We were HORRENDOUS first half, but lethal second.

Somebody needs to answer this for me?

Did we shift to a 3 man midfield when Bruno and Mata came on? To me, it seemed we did.

When we moved forward, Pogba was far ahead of McTominay, with either Mata or Bruno alongside pushing further forward, then playing out, Pogba dropped back to take the ball off McTominay before shifting ahead of him again.

That moment kind of have us complete control over the game.

Garbage again for the whole first half. Soul destroying. Nice goals and a welcome three points. How are we just 2 points off the top?

Academy to the rescue. Pogba, Greenwood, Rashford.

Only fair that we credit Ole with the same stick we use to beat him with midweek. The subs looked obvious but still good to see him have the courage to make them with a congested fixture schedule and 2 massive games coming up. They ultimately won the match. Only complaint would be to have left Cavani on and taken off Martial.

Speaking of Martial, he’s really lost all momentum from last season. Looks to have returned to the worst aspects of his game, disinterested and lethargic. We really need him and all the attackers to pitch in over the Xmas period and the rest of the season. To that end, was good to see Greenwood score.

Bruno is a joke, assists 1 then assists the assister for the other 2. Productivity is phenomenal. We’re really lost without his influence.

We're a really odd team, the 30 mins we played well shows the talent in the team, and the individual ability across so many of our players. Why we cant play as a team is strange though and against sides like WHU we get ourselves out of jail, but its why we're not a top side at the moment.

As much as Ole will get the blame, every manager post Fergie has struggled in that regard, so what exactly is the problem?!

The defence was so bad first half and occasionally the second. 3 brilliant goals. Bruno has to be our lucky charm. We cannot afford to have him injured for any length of time.

Weird, weird game.

For 60 minutes it was generally one of the worst performances I‘ve seen in a long time, then 6 minutes later we’re winning 2-1

grateful for the 3 points, just 2 points off the top....mad season.

I can’t help but think West Ham could have been out of reach by HT on another day. Goes to show how reliant we are on Bruno and to some extent Rashford too. Lord help if Bruno picked up a bad injury.

That first half shouldn’t be swept under the carpet though. That was awful.

Will probably go down as the best signing since Rooney and Ronaldo. Only others in that period that are close would be De Gea and RvP.
Vidic and Evra too but a great signing regardless.

I am starting to worry about Martial, I think Greenwood should be ahead of him for the CF role. Doesn't seem interested at all.

This team would be more solid if we had a CB in the VVD mould, a DM that can protect the defense and start plays and a top RW.

Our defending of corners at the near post is a real weakness and has to be dealt with.

At half time I was convinced we get hammered, so I'm very happy we manged to get the win. It's difficult to know what to think just now, it's just so unpredictable. I will gladly accept every win, hoping it leads to a run of form. It might be false hope, but that's what being a football fan is all about. Let's see what happens next.

Hard to understand, with bruno we perform. Without him we looks like kiddie in the ground. :nervous:

I don’t understand the consistency thing we’ve won 4 games on the trot and are the most in form team in the league.

We lost to PSG, perspective please. It’s a good thing we have a resilient squad!

It’s tough to have consistent performances with all these huge games however it’s a good sign that we are still winning not bad!!

VDB isn’t a difference maker he’s a cog, there was know-one running in the first half partly due to the players and party due to not trusting each other.

Hence why I’d be ecstatic with the below over the next two years.

Pogba, matic, mata out

Haaland, Grealish, Phillips In

Rashford, Haaland, Grealish, Bruno, Greenwood, Diallo, Martial. Attackers

VDB, Fred, Mctominay, Phillips Midfielders

With a few youth players around it and we will sort this slow start mentality!

Robert Green is incredibly articulate
Yeh he’s good. Not surprised though, listening to the Peter Crouch podcast and he says Robert Green was always different since he would read a book on the team bus all the time. Crazy stuff.

If we had won the title last season and this kind of result would have happened we would have said that this is winning mentality. But the fact that we have been struggling for years makes this a weak performance. To come after a crazy champions league match against PSG and do this is commendable.

That being said defence is scary weak. The defenders are just not proactive.

We were lucky not to be down 4-0 at halftime.

But in fairness our two best players; who are miles ahead of everyone else in the squad, started on the bench.

Once they came on it wasn't even close. Pity they couldn't be fully rested but it is what it is.

Credit to Wan Bissaka as well who was pretty incredible 1-v1 today and useful in moving the ball forward from our end.

No it shouldn't, but it was an XI that hadn't played together before and it just didn't work. The balance was not there. We've learnt something from that and won anyway, so its a good day

Bruno created 8 chances, which is the most anyone has created in a game in the PL this season and he came on at HT. No clue how you don't give it to him
Let’s not be churlish here. His willingness to run in behind stretched West Ham where Martial was static. Yes Bruno was great but who cares ...the team won

I wish Pogba would score more goals. He's got the ability as shown with his goal today.
The attitude of the players needs to be better right from the off, especially when you play for a club like United (where the opposition play like it's their cup final).
The first half performance has me very worried about the Leipzig game.

Footballer Reads Book!

Turn to pg 4-5 for shock revelation

I don't understand this team. We go Jekyll and Hyde every single game, so inconsistent. We play phenomenal football at times and some of our players (mostly Bruno) look unstoppable one moment, and the other we look uncoached, clueless, all over the place.

That said, we're two points off the top in the league in December, and can still go through the group of death in the CL with just a draw in the last game of the group stages. I'd have taken at the beginning of the season. And this season, unlike the bore fest of years past, we provide sheer entertainment. And I love that.
