We are qualified. Great. And yes we should have won comfortably but we have so many problems lads. So many. But at the end the result was the most important thing. Thank God there will be no E.L this year can not afford 2 seasons at it.

Very poor performance, the passing in attacking areas is so disjointed, it’s like the player receiving the ball is not expecting it and is always on the back foot.

The movement is non existent and in the last 10mins we had 4 up front but still no width.

Robbie savage was correct in commentary when he criticised Valencia for not giving rashford an option for a pass but I think that shows more of a collective apethy having to play for Jose.

Felleini rescued Jose again but it covers over so many cracks.

I can't lie, I let out a yelp of excitement when we scored. That was dire stuff, but it feels good to get a win. Shouldn't save Jose's job, mind.

I'd say it's almost certain we'll be in the Europa League next year.

Same old same old, boring football, zero cohesion in the team, shite defense, no creativity going forward, big Dave coming to the rescue(again for the nth time), Jose antics with throwing the drinks, mindboggling team selection. I literally laughed when ex-Afro scored the goal, not with joy but because it was pure comedy and totally unexpected. Not going past the round of 16 that's for sure, but another excuse for Jose to stay. All in all bear with it all for some more time lads and ladies.

Well that buys jose another 2 months. What will it take to get rid! Performances obviously is not eds main area.

Marcus Rashford couldn’t hit a cows arse with a harp. Big problem for us is, neither can Lukaku.

Moan about Mourinho & his tactics all you like but with better strikers we should at least be getting more of those efforts on fecking target!!

Couldn't help but chuckle when we scored, of course it was Fellaini in the last minute off a knock down from a long ball but at this point beggars can't be choosers.

Fellaini is the best finisher at the club.

He and Martial are probably the best at finishing (and I am serious).
We have Rashford who needs about 100 chances to score 1 goal. We have Lukaku who is currently training to be a wrestler and doesn't have time to practise football.
We have Sanchez - we don't actually know where he is.
We have Mata who tries and sometimes does well.
And Lingard - the man who simply refuses to score a goal. When was the last time he scored - 10 months ago?

Terrible group of players. You could lose 7 or 8 of those who played tonight and not miss them.

That was ...weird. On the positive side we're through and we'll be a different team in February (more than likely with a new manager).

Our attack and midfield was/is just abominable. This can't go on for much longer surely.

Our defence is pretty bad, too. And we have just lost Lindelof for a month or 2.

The goal was coming and the refs were shite but Mourinho pathetic antics need to stop. He has no leg to stand on in the football world when he continues to allow dross like his pet stink up the place to no end

how many times have BT shown Jose and the bottles? A dozen times? The only pleasurable thing about tonight is seeing Lineker so disappointed at us winning.

What pet?

Honestly I wasn’t being sarcastic there at all. I would trust him in a one on one situation over any other player bar probably martial. That isn’t me praising fellainis finishing either, it’s the absolute state of the other options.

Pogba on the bench. Fecking insult to the player. And yes I prefer Jones to Lindelöf!

It's not the worst idea to give him a rest from time to time. We should still be able to beat Bern without him. He was clearly our best player the moment he came on though.

Rio said it best, “all eyes on me” from Jose.

Absolute dogshit performance, poor line up and tactics again.
Young Boys can count themselves unlucky, they could have won this match, they had the bigger chances but De Gea saved us.
Embarrassing overall

Ok, it’s great to get through but feck me really? It’s painful and some of Mourinhos decisions are beyond the pale, he took Fred off which for me was our best player and when he came off we seemed to go to shit. Some of his decisions seem designed to get himself the sack, it’s fecking weird.

To be fair his subs have won us quite a few games

Tbh, if we're wasting good chances like tonight, we can't be all blaming tactics. Got to blame the players for missing them.

Fellaini looks like a better finisher than Rashford. If that final ball went to Rashford, it would've gone wide. Fact.

This. One criticism on Mourinho I can understand is our general disorganization when we attack. We lack any specific plan. I know that Jose likes to let the players figure that out and he spends more time on organizing the defense but we really look like a mess going forward. It doesn't help when you play with Ashley Young, Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian as full backs but the club should have invested in better attacking players.

Mourinho and his lovechild tree steal 3 points and slither on, it was a dreadful performance devoid of any ideas, Robbie Savage hit the nail on the head when he said there's no pattern or attacking plan, it's just clueless hit and hope football, so tumescent but the nightmare rolls on.

Strange game. We won, we can rest some players against Valencia, but overall performance was awful.
Our potential rivals in the eighth-finals - Real, Barca, Bayern, Atletico/Dortmund, possibly PSG... scarry

I was there, Fred was knackered.
Couldn’t give a feck, Matic has looked knackered for months and he’s been kept on, Fred was still getting about and passing and moving forward more than any other player out there and although I wasn’t “there” he looked fine to me, shocking decision.

A very weird feeling at the end. Can’t remember a goal being celebrated in a manner of just sheer relief, by both players and fans alike, rather than joy. Everyone is feeling the pressure and it is affecting all aspects of our game. I said at half time that we just need to grind out clean sheets and we’ll get goals to get wins. From that confidence will come.

I thought Smalling and Jones both had good games. Jones did more in two minutes at right back than Valencia all match. Smalling’s passing and ability with the ball was strong tonight. Reminded me of Carrick a bit. Maybe they’re working together?

Worst players were Martial, who was read like a book all night and very weak against any resistance, Lingard, who was extremely quiet, and Matic, who simply continues to uninspire. How’s he getting 90 every match? Valencia, I don’t even consider an option any longer and have no expectations of him.

Not a great performance, but a win is all that mattered. A lot can change before the knockout rounds, so it is good that we have booked our place. Let’s keep grinding.

I don’t see any white text. This is a joke right? Right?!

This Moyes love in has to stop. I mean his “best” buys only came good under other managers
Because there isn’t one.
I didn’t say we would’ve been more “successful” under Moyes, but he did have an eye for a bergain (Stones, Coleman, Cahill) and by all reports Kroos was very close, until LvG vetoed it, Kroos would’ve been a sensational transfer for us.
Moyes’ dithering would’ve prevented us from spending millions on absolute dross.
And yes, Mata and Fellaini are still here, 5 years after Moyes.

At about 55 mins in I said it will be plan A, which is Pogba on, move Fellaini up top.

De Gea and Fellaini saved our arses yet again. We've been so inept and woeful I don't think we deserve that last minute goal but we'll take it.

Outside of De Gea, Fellaini and Fred, the rest looked to be half arseing it

What the hell are Jose, Carrick and McKenna doing during the week. The pattern of play is just shambolic. I can only think the players are half playing and sulking again. Young Boys were just casually blocking everything. It took a new low tonight and thanks to some heroics from two who give a shit, saved us.

Rashford couldn't score in a brothel.

Do we need to buy another striker in Jan?
