Young Boys 2:1 Manchester United

Post-match discussion

Over 90 plus minutes, we managed two attempts on goal. That in inexcusable.

Those two attempts also came within the first 24 minutes, whilst we had 11 players. So not a single attempt at goal, for more than 65 minutes of football.

Spin it anyway you like with being down to 10 men, but are you really telling me if Pep, Tuchel, Klopp etc were in the same position, they would the vast majority of the game without so much as an attempt on goal?

We're not winning a single thing with Ole. He's a manager that snatchers defeat from the jaws of victory. He never learns.

feck off Ole. Same thing time and time again. Pisses me off.

You should really take a break. Go read a book.

Disgraceful performance and then some more. We played as if we were facing prime Barca. Down to ten, Ole shat his pants.

He’s taking us into the fecking Europa again isn’t he?

I’ve said it a thousand times, and I truly hope I’m wrong, but we will win nothing under Ole. Inexcusable in game management tonight. Handed them the game on a plate.

10 men or not that's just a really pathetic performance tbh. I don't think going down to ten men means Manchester United can't muster up a single attack against young boys for the rest of the game .

It's quite obvious that once again the coaches got the changes wrong. I expect the usual suspects will come and say it was ten men what do you expect blah blah blah but the changes were absolutely terrible.

Taking off van de beek was beyond idiotic. As soon as I saw it I was flabbergasted. We basically emptied out our central midfield meaning we lost total control of the game.
It's just inviting pressure. And you keep on free role players like Bruno and Pogba.

Just knew we’d make a massive deal getting out of this group. And we’ve lost to the worse team in it.

Feel bad for Jesse. There is no excuse for hos poor we were and how we gave up every initiative after the red card.

Dreadful. Ole bottled it today and anyone who can't see that is just delusional.

We went down to 10 men and panicked. We didn't even play that well with 11.

Last season we won our first game against PSG and crashed out. Hopefully this time it will be better

We're an embarrassment in the Champions League no matter what our league form is like.

Reminds me of the time we dropped points to Istanbul ... rubbish performance, awful game management and questionable subs. West Ham next.

What’s that pass from Lingard? Wowzers we didn’t need that.
No arguments with the red card.
Ole got it completely wrong going to a back 5. We had no outlet at all.
Have to go into the Atlanta away game with 6 points, no excuses

Mistakes were made.

No defence for those tactics. Just take the sting out of it and pass the ball! We gave them all the initiative they need, with a baying crowd behind them.

Subs bizarre. Each and every one seemed odd at the time.

Lingard, I don't even know where to begin. Just lazy play, not thinking at all. He's not even looking where the ball is going.

Fuming.

Absolutely deserved for YB though. They played perfectly against our tactics.

That’s about as awful watch as I can remember a United game being.

Omnishambles! Wan Bissaka gets sent off, one nil up the obvious sub is to take off Ronaldo and let Bruno run his socks off as a false 9. If anyone can make sense of those subs please explain.

Zero attempts on goal after the 24th minute. Ten men or not, that's pathetic against Young Boys.

The second half was indescribably awful.

Ole: “Well Ronny has never won the Europa League, so really I think Jesse has done us a favour there”

Really poor game management.

Individually, some decent performances... Fred, Dalot, Pogba.

Made it tough for ourselves but I still think we will get out of the group.

It’s as if we went down to 10 men against a prime Barcelona or something,

We should have still comfortably won that game, extremely poor by Ole with those subs, going to a back 5 is always going to invite pressure and we’ve shown before we’re garbage with a back 5.

On to the next I suppose

Now it’s an incredibly difficult group. We have a poor record vs. Villarreal and will have to fancy Atalanta away could be a loss. 50/50.

AWB, Ole, and Lingard really blew it today.

Assume meltdown has begun- but let’s be reasonable. 11 vs 11 we win that easily. They played very well and made the most of the extra man. We screwed up at the end. Wouldn’t be Man Utd if we didn’t make it hard for ourselves

10 men or not that's just a really pathetic performance tbh. I don't think going down to ten men means Manchester United can't muster up a single attack against young boys for the rest of the game .

Ronaldo pen?

Comfortable until the red card. We'll still go through. No need to panic.

Almost felt like there was a sense of acceptance after the red card.
Lost our way completely. Ball retention wasn't good

Dreadful stuff. We should never have been that bad with 10 men and Ole invited unnecessary amounts of pressure on us with his ill-thought-out substitutions.

Urgh well that was awful...

It's always worse when the game ends like that. I know it's hard when you're down to 10 men, but Ole should have made better decisions throughout the game.

Also a lot of players needed to step up today, but didn't.

The only thing that could have made that a more perfect ending was if it had been Phil Jones screwing up.

Terrible. Absolutely terrible. The players dont have any direction. It is a team of really good individuals doing their own thing.

If Pep or Tuchel or Klopp were in charge of us tonight we would have destroyed them.

Some players do be up for it then others not up for it. Then we play well one half and shite the second half or vice versa.

If i were a betting man i would be sticking a tenner on us to not win anything this season. There are too many other good teams who have direction and tactics when we dont.

Lingard was the right sub, needed his running. Alas who can legislate for him being a complete fecktard. Secondly none of this happens if AWB doesn't have the touch of an utter criminal and decides he needs to tackle a player seventy yards from his own goal.
