We have been at this stage for 6 years with Thiago, Kroos, Fabregas, Mane. Manutd is no longer a club where players want to come and play football. Pogba was signed because he might have wanted to prove something, but other than him when was the last time we signed a player in his prime or just about entering his prime? and being in the top class bracket?



This is probably the closest thing to a "prediction" without Fernandez.

They might not have worked out, but these guys were in thier prime when they signed, though it could be argued Sanchez had started to show signs of decline.

I’m not expecting miracles but All these teams people are posting are terrible....Like really bad.

Can’t see one that’ll get us into top 4. Long season ahead I feel if we have any of these lineups.
 
How many players do we actually have who are both good enough to be here and are properly committed to being here?

Feels like the players who are good enough all want to leave and the ones who want to stay aren't good enough.

There are even a few who are neither good enough or committed enough.

Would I be far off in suggesting Lindelof, Shaw and McTominay are the only established senior players who ticks both boxes?
 
It is bit difficult to guess with out much activity so far, Not sure about new comers but I would be happy if one or two youngsters from academy excel and establish as first team regulars.

I know its not fair judging them just after few games but I dont have much hope on either Chong or Gomez.
Hopefully James, Greenwood, Levitt could cut it.

Three, maybe four. I can see us waste time on trying to get Leicester to lower their asking price for Maguire, then one week before the transfer window ends we will panic and quickly buy someone like Diop for way too much money.
So James, AWB, Longstaff and maybe a new CB.

Not happy with it either. You know what, to not ruin your evening I will add Bruno. We have been linked with him although I don't really trust any source from Portugal these days.

Absolutely, it's just with what we desperately need this summer and the supposed players that are looking to leave, we're gonna have to make do with some of what we have. You know that whole thing of Rome not being built in a day thing.
 
I don't like their antics but imagine if we just went nuts and signed Neymar, Griezemann, and Bale all in one summer. That front three are all potentially available and would rival anything out there. It's not entirely implausible either.

If we sold Martial and Lukaku we could raise around £100m.

Neymar would be around £200m as PSG would want their money back. Pay PSG £150m plus De Gea.

Bale we could get on loan for a season. If we paid his whole wages then there would probably be no loan fee. His wages are supposed to be £600k a week so we'd be looking at £31m in wages.

Griezemann we know is available for £107m.

Our lineup next season could be something like this.

Henderson/Romero

Wan Bissaka (£55m)
Maguire (£70m)
Lindelof
Shaw

Matic/McTominay
Pogba
Rabiot (Free)

Bale - (loan £31m in wages)
Griezemann - (£107m)
Neymar - (£150m plus De Gea)

Other Signings - Dan James - £15m

Total Outlay - £397m

Income - Lukaku £50m, Martial £50m, Darmian £6m, Rojo (?), Sanchez (?).
