Premier League: 02/03 October

Tbf, they aren't your typical promoted team, lot of PL quality players in their squad.

De Jong has broken 2 legs so far this season, and of course Karate Kicked Xavi Alonso in the World Cup Final.

Well yes I understand that, but you know as well as I that tactics wise, the PL isn't the same as the championship and the transition has been quite remarkable. They play relatively open football and they're not afraid to throw numbers forward. Makes teams like Stoke an embarrassment for the serial underachievers.

On De Jongs wiki: is a Dutch footballer who plays for Premier League club Manchester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers (under the name Karl Henry) and the Netherlands national team.

Yeah fair enough, I think they are good to watch, but still very very naive. Man City could be up by a couple already, because of the defensive policy used by Newcastle.

Regarding the match, there is going to be a sending off in the 2nd half for sure, yellow cards adding up here.

Jonas seems to think he has scored a hat trick and the game is over. I see no other reason to take the match ball with you.

He broke Stuart Holden's last season in a friendly. Can we call in a hit on this guy? Get Roy to suit up again and go in about thigh high on him. All he seems to do is injure people.

I haven't seen the game and have no access to the game right now. Is the leg break an obvious one, with a bit of leg pointing the wrong way or is it not that bad? I'm getting mixed signals from this thread and MBM reports.

This match is clearly fixed. Newcastle keep offering City the opportunity to run behind the defence. A very mind boggling choice of tactics playing with the line so high up the pitch.

Why do Newcastle fans have to take their shirts off? And why are so many of them obese?

Disappointed in Nicky Butt and Kevin Keegan there

He went in hard with the initial challenge, fair enough, but the chop thereafter?

Hope he sleeps well tonight knowing his attempt to make sure he got some of the player as he took the ball resulted in the poor lad breaking his leg and being out of the game for a lengthy period. Doubt he gives a shit mind

I've only seen replays, they might have censored the worst angles, you can see his leg bend in a way it clearly isn't meant too, but I couldn't see anything pointing the wrong way

Boateng looks half the player he was at the WC.

I just don't understand City's need to play 3 defensive mids at home to Newcastle

Ok, well here's to hoping it's not that bad and he's back soon then. He's a decent player but he can't seem to catch a break. Needs to sort his head a bit, mind.

Cheers.

Woy Hodgson is playing Carragher at LB today by the looks of their lineup.

Blackpool sticking with their 4 striker formation

Why is Ameobi starting ahead of Carroll?

He scored a couple vs. Chelsea and Carroll, regardless of his hattrick against Villa and current popularity in fantasy football teams, is actually a bit shit.

That, and Carroll is getting back from an injury

Tiotti or whatever his name is has been very impressive.

He's a fair bit better than Ameobi though who has the touch of a titus bramble
