Premier League Gameweek 18 (16th - 18th December 2017)

Yeah, they're not bottling this after so many straight wins.

Feck, this City side is unstoppable! Never seen a team in such a form before in the PL.

Why is he doing a "2-1" with his fingers? Derby result dig?

Was that De Bruyne doing a "2-1" celebration with his fingers in response to last Sunday's post-match celebrations controversy? A bit small-time if so but maybe it's about something else

Graeme Poll on the Pogba incident:

"The biggest call was absolutely correct as Marriner dismissed Pogba for a nasty over-the-top tackle.

I’m staggered that any experienced football watcher could suggest that the challenge should not have warranted a red card.

Remember that ‘intent’ is no longer required unless for handball. Pogba gets none of the ball and lands his studs on Bellerin’s leg, clearly endangering his safety."

Graeme Poll on the Kane incident (ball barely in sight, straight leg, studs showing, textbook excessive force):

[paraphrasing] "No intent..."
Cnut.

That was a clear red for Alli. The inconsistencies in this league seem to get worse every season :wenger: A lot comparing these tackles to Pogba's, which was a red all day long - so why is Alli still on the pitch? Shocking refereeing

Guy recovers from a potential leg breaker, scores a goal. Superhuman really. Puts in a shift that mofo. Defends, attacks.

DDG would have kept that out I think...

The guys in the studio pointed out how Ederson's passing negates the high press from Tottenham. Insane what a keeper of that caliber does to your team.

Nothing wrong with preference, but associating LVG with possession football id like associating Pulis with counter attacking football. Why associate a kind of football with a manager who couldn't do it well?

Because lvg managed us and he has always been famous for playing possession based football.

That's BT. Their "experts" include Robbie Savage and a ref who gave someone 3 yellows in a World Cup.

As much as I hate saying, it's incredible to get 15/15 from all big games. Had any other big team managed to get such a record in any other season ? Don't think so.

Fecking hell, very difficult to save that.

Spurs try to get physical, but it's not enough to stop them scoring, it's the only way for most teams, but these days players are protected.

What's the point of trying to play it out from the back when your CB's hoof it anyway??!!

I hope his celebration wasn't in reference to the derby result because that would suggest an extreme inferiority complex.
