Premier League Gameweek 19 - Dec 22nd and 23rd

I wonder if city's forum will be ranting and raving about how poor they've been and how boring they were, or if our fans will just blissfully ignore that the myth they've created about city isn't true.

They're the best team and deserved winners and may end up winning 4-0 here but that was a dreadful half of football. (Not a criticism of city, my point is how readily we criticise our own and happily pretend that city haven't been slugging out wins)

Pardew is going on his usual streak of losing games in a row. He will soon win a lot of games in a row. Unluckily for WBA, he started in the wrong order, so he may be sacked before it turns around.

The way the footballing einsteins portray as If this city side is equal to barca is a joke. They have been poor in many matches and have been riding their luck big time.

But one thing I will have to give credit to pep is this season when required he has been pragmatic also. He has slowed down the play and not go all out attack. This is why pep will always be a better manager than klopp.

Yep absolutely, they deserve credit for getting these wins.

But this is one of several games this year they've been the same. There is not some sort of footballing revolution happening at city.

City will win every game from now until the end of the season. Worst standard of football I have ever seen from the Premier League since it's beginning

Except it’s probably at its highest, when Stoke and Watford have players like Shaqiri, Richarlison etc. Many of the lower teams have players they could only dream about 10-15 years ago.

I think a lot also forget that it would be nice if other teams beat them along with us. We could beat them and it would make sod all difference as they are having their way with everyone else as well.

How do people find City exciting to watch? I find their games really boring. Pass after pass after pass. I almost fell asleep watching that half. Give me counter attacking football any day. Even at Bayern they were very boring as well.

Disagree with that comment. If you looked through older squads of past EPL sides, still a decent spread of talent. I don't think the standard is that higher tbh.

Yes. If nothing changes in the next 3 games and they keep on winning then I fear the season is surely over. I am expecting palace and Newcastle to do some magic. But I feel eventually they will again it their peak form in February/March. This is why it is imperative for them to from points.

Thats because with us it happens nearly every game. One bad game of football is hardly anything to write home about when they've had a long list of spectacular displays.

You desperately need another goalkeeper. In fact someone like Jordan Pickford might have done a good job for you.
Nah I'd rather just give Karius a run till the summer and if he's not showing any form either than overhaul the position in the summer. At the moment though Mignolet has been here 5 years and had countless chances whereas the former was lambasted after a poor run of 10 games last season. He needs to improve too but hes worth giving a go. Getting VVD in will also go a long way in January.

We were criticised even when we were beating teams 4-0 so they have got a fair free pass when compared to us.

But then we ourselves lost to them so no point expecting others to do a job.

It's already done and dusted tbh, 5 points is a pretty big gap usually but 11 is insurmountable barring a catastrophic collapse.

Yes because many of our 4-0's didn't tell the full story, we were quite lucky with some of those scorelines and the football was hardly fluent. Seriously United fans of all teams should be quiet when even thinking of criticising other teams about style of play let alone City. It is embarassing.

You'll have to hope City don't nip in there for VVD if the rumours are right.

No. Their cracking run v Liverpool Watford and stoke massively skewed opinion, in truth they've relied on resilience and patience more than free flowing football.

There's that word again.

Personally I'm not criticising them at all. Just speaking plainly about the truth of how they play rather than pretending they're blasting teams off the park with Pacy mind blowing football. But yeah of course it's our 4-0 wins that require further investigation

You'll be saying Pep is basically a bald Pulis next. Every team in history has to show some resilience if it wants to win titles - even the Barca sides. Doesn't mean they're not a fabulous team to watch for the most part. Their football is on another planet to this United side.. the way we grind results compared to them is not even comparable.

The decline in quality and fall in number of British players plays a part. Obviously back then the majority was British and the cream rose to the top but with that meant there were still decent quality scattered around the league. Whereas now quite average players just sit on the bench at big clubs and it only takes a decent run of form to get capped for England.

I'm praising the resilience you lunatic!! Why is it controversial to say that they haven't played every week like they did versus stoke or Watford? Many many games this season have been just like their performance today, it's not a bad thing but I won't be calling them other worldy in terms of guns blazing attacking. So damn sensitive to a criticism that you've fathomed

Half way through the season and only match drawn, none lost.. boy this is some run. Did Bayern or Barca under Pep even match something like this?

Honestly you act as if we are in some 10th position and others are performing extremely well. We are second (or third ) in most goals and are second in table. So yes we fans have a right to take a dig at city considering fans like you portray them as the best since sliced bread.

And what is with luck. So anything we do is lucky but if city riDE their luck they are great. You make your own luck and we are 2nd because deserve to be. City are 1st because they deserve to be. It's just that when people say this city is hardly the best PL side ever , fans like you get agitated and start making your flawed reasons of how we fans have no right to complain. Take that self righteous attitude somewhere else.

The camera angle before the 2-0 perfectly showed Bmouth's 5-4-1 formation. Still, they leave City so much room, it's mind-boggling.
