Premier League Gameweek 2

I woke up thinking it'll be another day of all the top teams winning and us losing, looking half right already

I know Haaland was involve in City opener and i know he got a brace last time out but you'll have to wonder, can a Pep number play with this few amount of touches and continue to get picked in the long run?
Yes, he has everything. He's been very good so far. Don't get the narrative he won't fit in. He set up the 1st goal. All the defenders backed off De Bruyne cause of Haaland for the 2nd. He's creating havoc.

Chelsea should get a 20% discount on Fofana after his first half display against Martinelli.

Smalling? the same player who has moved abroad to one of the biggest Italian clubs and just won a trophy starting. Smalling is not world class in anyway but to say Evans is better is laughable.
Are you joking? Torino has more honours than Roma yet nobody talks about Torino being one of the biggest Italian clubs.

Could Jesus be a Sanchez/ Aubameyang level forward for Arsenal?

I think he fits them like a glove, the 3 who play behind (sometimes ESR) needed a foil to play off and he's fantastic in the build up as well as being a far bigger goal threat than Lacazette.

I was pretty shocked at how dismissive people were of the transfer at the time.

Arsenal's first 11 looks very good now but the bench is still weak.

A couple of injuries to key players will result in a big drop in performances.

This season is going to be brutal for us. On top of the usual, City look even better. Liverpool are going to be great as usual. Arsenal have stepped it up (sigh). Spurs and Chelsea are strong as usual.

And here we are starting the season with McFred.

I fear the price will be paid by ETH.

Think we need to wait a bit to declare him a success. Lukaku had something stupid like 10 in his first 11 Utd games

Because he and Zinchenko came from Man City, so they are used to Arteta's tactic and system. There is no need to bed them in. Jesus can probably socre 15 league goals for arsenal

Yep. It's looking very grim right now unless ETH starts literally producing miracles.

Quite amazing to manage to give him credit for a spectacular solo goal by KDB.

Of course but I think that Jesus has more in his past to suggest that he would be a success with this Arsenal side than Lukaku did when he arrived at Chelsea.

Lukakus hold up and build up play was crap in Euro 2021, he wasn't going to suddenly be class at Chelsea.

Jesus' all round game is great, he isn't the goal threat that a Haaland is but he is a far bigger threat than Lacazette was last season.

Easy. Mad that they got such a free run at him.
I think he's a good player but those guys carried the team a lot, let's see if he has that level I know Pep system can sometimes marginalizes forwards.

He's started well and generally he's a good player, if he can keep up the goal scoring then it will be a brilliant signing.

Atleast Everton have no points so far

Chelsea were no better than us last week, needed a pen against a dreadful Everton and have no goal threat. They have also skewed opinions due to performing well in tournaments that are not the actual Premier League. In the league, they have no better than us for the last 4 years pretty much.

Too early to say anything definitive, but you are correct in that we need improvement, especially in midfield. I’ve said before but if we don’t sign a midfielder due to the manager having faith’ in the current pair, then he has no support from me and I’ll be wanting him out from 02 September. I’ve got no more ‘give it time’s left with the likes of McTominay.

Yeah I think that's his range 12-17 goals as the main center forward. Aubameyang and Sanchez were more though.

Precisely. They don't give players a second chance, you buy into everything or you are a goner.
While we have tolerated an abysmal central midfield for years. Our last real CM signing was Fred (VDB and Bruno don't count). The feck is up with that.

Leeds 1 up

They're looking very impressive. Considering they've lost 2 of their best players they've recruited well.

As long as he scores more than Laca and be a focal point in the box rather than a false 9, I am happy.

Ramsdale does realise he's a goalkeeper, right? He's always so far off his line.

Meh proper unlucky there... Ramsdale has to either follow Vardy's movement or trust Saliba will head it. Wrong choice
